Hand-me-downs

I feel like whenever I’m in Philly to visit Dylana, I always come home with an extra tote, filled with all of her unwanted hand-me-downs. I scored big this time as I made my way through her Evil Twin package. It consisted of one giant box with all sorts of super duper short frocks, including this beautiful tie-dye number. The jade green is my absolute favorite color and already, I’m craving more of this brand’s summer pieces. For some reason, Dy’s wardrobe brings out the tie-dye and bead-draped hippie in me. Being the little sister isn’t so bad now is it? So yeah, the heat is on, and all I feel like wearing are tiny dresses, a great pair of boots, and a messy bun. It’s no surprise that I always go for easy, colorful styles on the weekends. Our nights were spent with friends, dancing at the bar, and getting chased down by a drunk 60 year old man (yikes!) while days were filled with sleepy walks around Center City, wondering how the strangest things always happen to us. Philly, can you get any weirder? I still love you anyway.

Sunflower

(J Brand coral jeans, Vintage sweater, Hallelu blouse, Leibeskind Berlin bag, 80%20 “Edie” flats)
I was just leaving work when I spotted these bad boys skating below the high line. The way the sun was setting over them was amazing. I just stood back and snapped away. After a day inside the studio, dressed up for work, it was nice to throw back on my own clothes, hit the streets, and get a bit dirty. These coral denim J Brand’s are just so gorgeous… may not be the best pair of jeans to pop a squat on the sidewalk in to shoot a group of skater boys, but I surprising kept them spotless throughout the entire evening. Somehow I can’t seem to really damage my never-ending collection J Brand’s, I love them too much.

NEW LOVE: Jewelmint “Boutique”

(Free People sweater, Target pants, Sienna Ray bag, Pour la Victoire sandals, Jewelmint bracelet, Jewelmint Boutique belt)
It’s pretty rad to be one of the first to take the new Jewelmint Boutique collection out for a spin. The little gold belt screams chic and easily transform the simplest of outfits. When I got these pieces in the mail, I was so clueless and spent ages trying to wrap this belt around my wrist, before I found out what it really was.  But no, really, the “Boutique” pieces can be worn anyway you like which is pretty amazing…their funktionality is what makes them unique. But you get my drift, I blame my schedule for making me scatter brained! Work is packed till the end of the month and all I can think about is a vacation. A small trip to Philly is coming up this weekend (you know how those go…insane in a good way) and another exciting adventure to good ol’ Chicago next week. Part work, mostly play and a hell of a lot of fun. I have some other cool travel news to share, but I’ll get into that next time. Now, where’s the nearest Target? These royal blue trousers I plucked from my friend’s junk box blow my mind.

ECHO DESIGN: An Overflowing Bag

(Echo Design tote, Rugby Ralph Lauren sweater, Paige Denim leather leggings, Dr. Marten shoes)

I’m totally one of those girls that carries a handbag AND a tote around the city. It’s only because I have far too much stuff to lug around in one day. Recently, I’ve finally put my life into one thing, this bright yellow Echo Design bag. The neon hue brings just the right amount of cheer to the nasty rainy days. Stashed inside is my film camera, about 3 different lipstick shades (though I always end up wearing red), and of course, I never leave the house without my Metrocard. How else do I get around the city in record time? This neon baby carries a hell of a lot more, but to me, the lighter the better.

Echo Design is also giving away one of these handbags on Facebook, so enter now!
