Windswept Hair

(Lauren Moffatt sweater)
Still, I have many more curl confessions to make. Thanks to Paul Mitchell, I’ll be sharing all my little secrets. Yes, I love a little windswept hair. Naturally, just stepping out onto my fire escape can cause it get a bit crazy…and I like it. But still, I’ve got to do a little something to it every now and then before things get too insane up there. Running the “Beachy Texture Cream-Gel” through my hair with my fingers is a must, but I’ve just discovered something new. Tying my hair up in a bun with the “Full Circle Leave-In Treatment” in the morning is beyond brilliant. I then let the bun loose just as I’m leaving the house, and voilaaaa…rock n’ roll waves, that are still soft. When I go out dancing, my hair’s my weapon. I’m always the one whipping my hair on the dance floor.
I want to hear your curl confessions too!! Write them down here, on Paul Mitchell 🙂

Recording in Studio with the Benni Boot

Just this week I made an spur of the moment visit to the studio to record my own, softer version of Fleetwood Mac’s, Rhiannon. It’s simple. A piano. And that “live” feel that I love on records. And most importantly, I’m finally able to introduce you to the new
“Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” BENNI boot!
A classic spin-off to our JETT boot, it’s got simple, clean lines and comes in some killer shades. For now, take a peek at our suede fuschia Benni boot, handmade right here in the Modern Vice factory…and with love of course! I’ve been wearing it non-stop with everything. Somehow this fuschia works with so many of my looks. I cannot wait to release Dylana’s colorways next week, along with some of our special holiday designs.
Take a sneak peek at the BENNI, shot by Kelsea Kosko, along with the song we put together at Avatar Studios.
That’s me singing on the track in the video…enjoy! I can’t wait to put out more music very soon!

Listen here:

Our Modern Vice BENNI boot is now finally available to purchase on modernvice.com in fuschia and burnt orange!

Mountain of Dreams

Kenny Clothes campaign, shot by Chris Clinton
I cannot look at my Kenny Clothes campaign without listening to Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California.” I feel this shoot was made to go with that song. The white mares. “Wondering how tomorrow could ever follow today.” The day was perfect. I had it on replay all week before this shoot. I know I’ll look back at these images when I’m older and smile…home just feels so close in them, I can almost feel how the sun warms my skin. The crew was nearly clothe-less in the desert heat, but nothing stopped us from capturing those perfect moments. I dream about the next time I can go back to California…and cartwheel my way through the desert. I live for that freedom.

Hocus Pocus

(One Teaspoon from Dear Fieldbinder dress, Urban sweater, Stuart Weitzman shoes, “Brave for Natalie Suarez” Angel Court ceremony necklace and stacked rings, B.B. Dakota coat, Coach “Legacy” handbag)
It’s that time of year again! Pumpkin season! Hmmm, I thought what better way to kick off fall, then spending it in Philly, with my Free People girls. I live for those long, sleepy car rides to the pumpkin patch. It was a spur of the moment decision. Nobody could decide what to do, so we just got in the car as it was raining and went, following the winding roads of the suburbs. With the heater blasting, and oldies playing on the radio, of course I was the first one asleep. The chill hit us the moment we stepped out of the car like a bolt. It’s official, I’ll be bundling up from this point on. Dresses, with tights, with sweaters, with coats. It must have been the fog and the dampness that has gotten me in a Hocus Pocus mood. I mean, look at my pointy shoes! Not to mention, the ceremonial necklace, just one piece from the
“Brave for Natalie Suarez” Angel Court collection, launching very soon. Everything about my line is very dark…heavy crosses, and lots of arrows, and chains. I’m excited to show you the rest of the pieces. For now, I’m eyeing the candy corn sitting on the edge of my bed…a little treat to get me in the fall mood!
