Open Spaces

(Vintage jacket, Joie blouse, American Apparel riding pants, Anthropologie flats, Chanel bag, Ax+Apple necklace)

California, do you miss me yet? I do miss you, though I’m back next month…but for some real desert fun (cough, cough, Coachella) and I can’t wait to prance around in your open fields again. California, to me, always means no makeup, more time outdoors, and a hell of a lot more chill time. Here I am snapped just a few blocks from my home in Cali, where horses roam, and there aren’t any sidewalks. You won’t hear a peep here unless it’s the rustle of leaves from the oaks trees or a random animal out in the brush. I made my way up the cracking, winding streets in nothing but a rad pair of riding pants, a sheer blouse, and one of my favorite vintage jackets. Earth tones will always dominate my wardrobe.

Playful Prints GIVEAWAY!

(Rugby by Ralph Lauren sweater, House of Wilde pants, Daniblack shoes)

I’m going to try to spend my Sunday at home, organizing all my luggage, and TRY to unpack. Everyday I’ve been busy either with shoots or appointments, making it hard to be home and get anything done. And it’s not easy either when I don’t have proper furniture quite yet! Still waiting upon Time Warner to finally install my internet this morning…which will allow me to be sane once again! This coming week is going to be even more insanity around my apartment. My parents are coming to visit! Having the parentals in town will definitely be a change, as I’ve been living on my own for a while now, but I am beyond excited to have them around. They are always a crazy amount of fun! Plus, they are bringing my guitar back which I’m super stoked about! It’s about time I get back on it and writing some music and of course, recording some proper videos for you guys. I’ve got a lot to do to prepare for their arrival and I see a very busy, but amazing week ahead! Moving has indeed caused me to get a bit playful and creative with my wardrobe. I keep seeing so many prints and patterns lying around that I want to wear them all. I recently received these amazing trousers from London, made by House of Wilde. I’m obsessed with the wild print. Paired with some bold stripes and a leopard flat, I went a bit print mad, but you know, it’s fun and when I’m just strolling around my neighborhood, who really cares right?! I love it.

Because I love you guys way too much, I will also be giving away a new pair of these incredibly cool House of Wilde trousers!! To enter to win these pants:

Good luck and a happy, happy Sunday!

A New Start

(Joie cardigan, Stylestalker tee, 5 preview leather skirt, Liebeskind Berlin bag, Wanted shoes, Alimonada spike necklace)

I am slowly moving into my new apartment and things have been a little crazy! It’s not fully furnished yet at all…I have my bed all set, but I’ve still got piles and piles of clothes lying around the apartment. It really looks like a hurricane blew right through it! The back room of my apartment is still a total mess and has become just one huge pile of lost treasures. It makes for an excellent way to get dressed every morning…simply plucking something from the pile and throwing it on before heading out the door. I just remembered I had these two killer pieces: a knitted Joie cardigan and 5 Preview leather skirt. The cardigan is something I’d find my grandma in, while the pleated leather skirt reminds me of the little grade school me. Together, I think they make the perfect ensemble. I’m pretty happy to be moving, playing around with older pieces in my wardrobe, and eventually cleaning the whole darn thing out. It’s kind of a fresh new start. Let’s see what else I come across in this madness!

To the Gypsy

(Chan Luu chained tank and skirt, True Religion jacket, Shop Goldie knuckle ring, Poshlocket silver ring, Jewelmint key rings)

Just a few days ago I finally found the perfect apartment here in NYC and already, my life is going through a lot of changes…for the better of course! I cannot wait to give you a glimpse into my new place! It’s so crazy, after coming to New York and not knowing anyone at first, this city, of all places, has slowly become the center of my life! There are still many little corners of the world that I can still happily call my home though. After bouncing from city to city, it feels nice to have this one place that I can call my own. Decorating is going to be the fun part! Even with settling down, I think I’m still very much the gypsy! It’s no wonder I gravitate towards loose layers and long, oversize skirts. Right now, I’m in love with these two pieces by Chan Luu. The body chain, with the dangling jewels, is probably one of my favorite pieces in my entire closet. It looks so pretty hanging as well…I could look at it all day! The skirt, another personal favorite of mine, just makes me want to go dancing. I will for sure be packing these babies next month for my Coachella escapade. Forever there will be a little gypsy in me.
