Red and Beige

(INC sweater, Calvin Klein skirt from La Bella Vintage, Vintage belt, Coach bag and shoes)

Right now I am obsessed with the combination of red and beige. They just compliment each other perfectly! Here I am snapped just outside my apartment. It’s now mid-fashion week and I’m already exhausted! I woke up at about 6am to attend an early breakfast with Vogue and Anna Della Russo over at the Conde Nast building. There, I picked up this gorgeous INC sweater! I loved it so much I threw it on the moment I came home. Paired it with one of my new treasures, this vintage Calvin Klein skirt. It was a gift from my super sweet reader Ashley of the Etsy store, La Bella Vintage! She emailed me about it saying that it’s something that reminded her of me and of course, the moment I received it, fell in love. The girl knows her stuff! Now her vintage shop is one of my go-to online shopping destinations! My purse and bag are by Coach. The pop of red on the soft leather is stunning. I couldn’t take my eyes off of it in the store! So there you have it, how I’ve worked one of the hottest color combinations known to man 🙂

Afternoon Drizzle

(Mango leather jacket, Romwe sweater, Hallelu skirt, Vintage belt, Pour La Victoire shoes, Koshka bag)

And fashion week begins!! I kicked off the week at the IFB conference over at Milk Studios in the Meatpacking District. There, I spoke on the panel “Business and Blogging” along with a few other well known bloggers. It was a really great event and it was pretty refreshing to hear more about the business side of blogging and getting to answer the many questions our readers have in regards to how to market themselves, negotiate rates, connect with clients, etc etc. I was so surprised that my fellow panelists were supermodel Coco Rocha (whom I LOVE), the CEO of StyleCaster, as well as a few other personal style bloggers including Aimee of the blog Song of Style. After just arriving back in NYC from LA, my life (and closet) has literally been all over the place. Being in a constant rush to run out the door that morning, I threw on a very simple yet beautiful maroon skirt along with a cozy cropped sweater. I love how something elegant and girly can be toughened simply with a leather jacket. Layering was a must as the city has been receiving more rain than a girl in 5 inch stilettos can handle! Luckily, the weather has changed and the sun is out, giving us all out at fashion week a little break. I am beyond excited to attend my very first runway show, Nicole Miller, at Lincoln Center tomorrow! I’ll be sure to keep you updated on my NYC fashion week events!

And for all my fashionistas in town, MEET ME tomorrow night Saturday, the 10th (6pm-8pm), as I host the TOPSHOP event in Soho (478 Broadway)! Food and Drinks for all!!

Pre-Fashion Week

(White + Warren cashmere sweater, J Brand for FNO jeans, Pour La Victoire shoes, Koshka bag, Ax+Apple necklace, Milor Italy jewelry)

I am back in NYC for fashion week and through I’d do a quick pre-fashion week post! My schedule is jam packed and I’m already hurrying to write this, as I’m about to run out the door!! Just want to quickly say that I’m currently obsessed with the hot pink J Brand for FNO jeans (I know it’s not Fashion’s Night Out quite yet, but I HAD to wear them early. Plus, 100% of the proceeds go to the NYC Aids Fund in the NY Community Trust, so go out and get a pair!) I love anything bright with a crazy animal print. Sported this ensemble last night at the pre-IFB conference party at the Mandarin Oriental over in Columbus Circle. I will be speaking at the conference this afternoon! Oh and yeah, I just threw in some food pictures I snapped last night at my favorite midnight hangout, BaoHaus. Try the Uncle Jesse. It’s a mix of tofu, veggies, and the best spicy peanut sauce EVER. Sorry for being so scatter brained this morning!

Hidden Hangout: Modellounge

I love you Caitlin!

Okay so there is this place, completely underground, hidden from the craziness of NYC…full of models. Yeah, I know, sounds super intimidating and scary. I felt the same thing when I heard about it months ago, but it is actually pretty incredible! It’s called Modellounge and it’s basically a really rad space for models, and now even participating NYC bloggers, to hang throughout the day, whether it be to escape the super hot heat and grab a cold drink (we’re talking Illy and VitaminWater mhhmmm) , or hit up one of the many laptops to check their emails. There’s always something new going on whenever I pop by, like today, there were MASSAGES, gahhhhhhhhh. How cool is that? I wish I had more time throughout the day to visit, but at least I know there is this really comfy place in Union for my friends and I to meet up! Modellounge is currently working on videos and making sure to get the best updates behind the scenes for fashion week, with little sneak peeks at how the NYC models are prepping hehe! Be sure to check out the Modellounge blog for fun fashion week updates! I’m sure it will keep you entertained 🙂
