Chains of Love

(H&M tee, Vintage trousers, Cole Haan sandals, Chains of Love bracelet)

The heat we have been having here in California leaves me soo sleepy and lazy. Here I am hanging out on my front porch after a long day out in the sun. Playing around with the different settings of my camera, I ended up with some fun little detailed shots of my Chains of Love bracelet which is so rad that it connects as a ring; a nice big toe thumbs up shot (sorry to all that despise all things feets); as well a random portrait of my possibly half dead? geraniums glistening in the sun. More importantly, it has been warm enough to whip out these bad boys, of which you might remember: the sandals that have gone everywhere with me the last year…from Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore, and back. I love these babies and am praying they don’t fall apart. I’m still on the prowl for another pair that will treat me just as well as these have. Also, currently sporting the Guns ‘n Roses tee that I refuse to part with no matter how ratty and faded it gets, along with a great pair of French maroon trousers. This is my lazy weekend look… you can never go wrong with loose layers topped off with a big floppy hat!

Also, check out my interview with one of my good friends, Shamime Shaw, here on her new fashion blog: Cloth Culture! There are some photos she took of me a while back as well as some info on my cultural background!

Effortless Beauty

Happy Monday! Thought I’d kick off the week with a few photographs that caught my eye over the weekend. I’m amazed at how Arizona Muse jumped back into the modeling world looking so stunning and fresh right after having a child. And now I have this sudden urge to visit the closest cemetery and take some killer photos. Nirrimi gets me every time. This is the type of photography that makes me stop, right click, and press “save”. Combined, they have that demure, mysterious vibe I love and crave for when I flip through a magazine. These doe eyed beauties make looking good seem so easy…

Blue Jeaned Baby

(Volcom shirt and jeans)

Here I am sporting brand spankin’ new Volcom pieces from the Fall ’11 collection that will be hitting stores later this year. I am currently obsessed with the edgy, tomboy vibe of Volcom. This boyish cut-out shoulder shirt and faux-leather striped jean work so perfectly together. I could wear it just about everyday. Luckily, I got this top in a bunch of different shades and prints!

Definitely makes for an easy ensemble for yet another hectic week.

Carmen Chan, the photographer who shot my “nerd/boho” photoshoot, came over to my home and shot my sister Dylana and I in our workplace/natural environment. I have seen some of the shots and they are soo amazing! I love Carmen so much, she is bundles of fun and such a talented young photographer. I see her going sooo far! I’m sure I scared her though once I started blasting Justin Bieber from my laptop while she snapped away (but she liked it harhar)! So stay tuned for some beautiful shots of us in our home, rooms, and closets!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

(Vintage blazer, Calista tank, Forever 21 scarf, Hudson Jeans, Banana Republic boots, Vintage Versace bag)

With Chinese New Year just around the corner, I spent one evening trekking through downtown Chinatown, grabbing the baked bean buns and poultry requested by my mom so that she could prepare our Chinese New Year dinner. I was kind of appalled by the “black chickens” I ran into at the market, and boringly waited in line for the “brown young chicken” only to find out I didn’t have cash on me and they wouldn’t accept credit card. Not even caring about the time I just wasted, I decided to take a short walk and have a few snapshots of my outfit before heading out. Even though the sky has been clear, it’s actually pretty chilly with only the sun giving me a hint of warmth. With green being one of my favorite colors, I threw on this jade green tank and scarf along with a navy blue blazer. I was wearing booties this whole day because I had some castings and completely forgot to bring flats (gah i hate when that happens)! Despite not being able to make all of my Chinese New Year purchases, I did end up finding a hole in the wall joint with the best boba in town! Happily sipping the creamiest tea on the face of this earth, I jumped in my car just before the meter expired 🙂 GONG XI FA CAI!!
