My hair and makeup artist in Verona, Italy went for a very Brigitte Bardot look on me this evening and it is by far one of my favorite looks. Extra teased and voluminous roots with loose curls complete with a smoldering dark eye. I love a black winged liner with a super soft brown shadow. It’s certainly not my typical hair and makeup but it worked perfect for my red carpet event here in Verona. I like to go bold for the red carpet. It’s my time to play a new character and experiment with new and unexpected looks. This modern-day Brigitte Bardot hair and makeup feels extra glamorous when paired with a sparkling blazer and swaying skirt. When in Italia, I always go big and bold. Tonight is New Year’s Eve and though many of us are hitting the dance floor (and this look would be perfect for it), I think I might skip the hair and makeup all together, and ring in 2019 from home with family, rejuvenated and fresh faced.

I would never have thought a neon yellow pop would really compliment this red carpet dress from Manila Grace, but it just works. This is my after-party look. The red carpet dress paired with a shoe I can actually dance in. These past few weeks in NYC have been pretty insane. With spring in full swing, it seems like there is a gala or celebration just about every single night. Team Suarez has been having a blast with our nights out on the town. One of my personal favorites? Visiting a new hot spot in our neighborhood of Dumbo, Brooklyn: Soho House’s new Dumbo House. This exclusive new location to Soho House has been much anticipated for members around the city. It’s located right about the luxurious Cecconi’s restaurant and has stunning waterfront views of both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. Think sparkling chandeliers and delicious cocktails in glasses that could immediately have been taken out from the 1920’s. With plush velvet chairs next to floor to ceiling windows, it reminded me a posh little nightclub in London. As the Brit’s would say “so lush.”

For a night at the annual Harper’s Bazaar BAZAAR ICONS party celebrating rock n’ roll, I went this unforgettable red dress by Cinq a Sept. With a perfect crop top that so elegantly tied at the shoulder, and a billowing skirt wrapped so perfectly around the waist, it felt a lot more like the undone, rock n’ roll version of a ball gown. Exactly what I was going for. And in red…my favorite color. Stepping onto the red carpet, I kind of had to hold my breath. It is certainly one of the most star-studded parties during NYFW and I was lucky enough to attend and spend the night with my loves at Stella Artois. Here’s what a real party at The Plaza feels like.

Pre-party, IGK Hair came over and gave my hair some seriously good, messy waves. Before any special red carpet, messy waves are my go-to. It’s easy and immediately brings any red carpet look back down to earth. Dylana quickly took me outside to grab these shots at sundown before getting in the car. I’m actually in love with the industrial backdrop of my home of Dumbo, Brooklyn against something so elegant and beautiful, like this dress. It’s the way the skirt moves with the wind whenever I took a step that was pure magic. Upon arriving at The Plaza, I knew what I was getting into. Cameras were everywhere and the street was closed off. I kind of just wanted to step back and watch. There’s something about The Plaza that’s so classically old-school New York City. It’s like walking into a silent film…and it all becomes a blur when you’re in a room surrounded by so many inspiring people. I grabbed a FujiFilm Instax camera off the table and couldn’t put it down. I wanted to capture it all. The dresses. The chandeliers. The marble staircases. Between the dancing and the laughter, all I can really remember was the bass of The Weeknd ringing in my ear, and the sway of this dress. A NYFW night at it’s finest.
