A little quick hello on my busy Wednesday before rushing out the door. NYC, can you please bring out the sun?! I’m taking you back to much brighter days with a perfect retro beach look that’s super easy to recreate. My trip to the Cayman Islands consisted of numerous neck scarves (by Donni Charm of course), one-piece swimsuits, and decadent earrings. When you’re out on a gorgeous island, why not add a little Old Hollywood glam to your beach look?! It’s rare I have a day to just sit by the water with my phone on silent, so I let myself indulge and play diva.

As for my beach style, I pull loads of inspiration from French beauties Brigette Bardot and Jane Birkin. Lately, I’ve been a lot more Mick Jagger meet Jackie O. when I’m traveling for work… always a little party dress dress and my smartest boy blazer. It’s so necessary to trade in all the fashion for a day at the beach… pulling inspiration from that effortlessly French feminine look never goes out of style, but adding in my own little quirks. Statement sunglasses. Easy sandals. Airy pants that work on the plane as well as at the pool. All that’s really missing here is a straw bag and my beau. As I stare out my window at the gloomy Manhattan skyline and patiently wait for summer, all I can think about is this pink and booking my next getaway.

Isn’t there just something so beautiful about this color palette? So peachy. Orange has never looked so good thanks to my friends at M Missoni. They do beach luxury and striking color palettes unlike anyone else. Bright pink, lemon yellow, and mandarin orange. And yes, ponchos really are back.

This month has been pretty insane. I literally went from LA, to the Cayman Islands, to London, and now I’m plopped back here at my desktop here in NYC for another hectic week, just finishing off the Maison Valentino show…which happens to also be M Missoni’s sister company. Talk about a dramatic change in wardrobe for each location. Luckily I have 2 weeks back home…my suitcase is finally taking a little breather. But amidst the NYC rush, I miss those moments in the sun and not wearing a drop of makeup. Most importantly, I miss these super rich and happy colors. This top easily resembles an upside-down sunset…the skirt like lightning bolts flying through a fiery pink sky. I could easily see myself taking this look around the world this summer. An afternoon blending in with the pool chairs back home at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Or maybe somewhere on the cliffs of rosy Positano, Italy. Maybe next it’ll come with me to Santorini, Greece?! Out in the sandy desert of Dubai?! It’s my luxurious designer pieces that always inspire where I travel to, what adventures I want to go on. With each piece, comes a picture in my mind. And yes, I’m always watching the sun rise and fall.

There’s something so luxe about the Cayman Islands. Grand Cayman is a beautiful, tiny little island with the clearest blue water I’ve ever seen. You can drive around this British territory in just over an hour…it’s that small! It felt super private, especially on Grand Cayman, one of the 3 islands in the Caymans, famous for it’s fabulous beach resorts. A real escape that really isn’t so far away.

The Kimpton Seafire Resort is so glam. I was blown away with the property’s perfect oceanside balconies, insane sunsets, and really easy-going atmosphere. It seemed everything was at your fingertips: paddle boarding, massages, and the best part of any real getaway… not having a single thing on your schedule. Every morning I would wake up, open my doors, and let the heat from the beach fog up my mirrors. I’d work from my balcony. The sun always relaxing any sore muscles from all of my recent travels. Let me tell you, girl really needed it! I made sure to at least have a full day to disconnect and immerse myself in island life. That meant spending a lot more time in the water by day, and a lot of time by the bar at night. The girls and I felt pretty daring on afternoon and swam with the stingrays. We gallivanted around starfish island. Camera in hand. Laughing the whole way under the sun. We ate our way through the hotel’s menu. We told each other scary stories before bed just to freak each other out. Girls trips are always the best.

To celebrate our fabulous getaway, I whipped out my most editorial one-piece. A caged, super sexy one-piece by NORMA. Made for laying down by the pool with a glass of champagne. It fit in amongst the manicured lawns and gorgeous canopies. Just picture perfect. It’s really unlike any swimsuit I’ve owned. I’m normally the girl to throw on any slinky two piece before hitting the waves, but sometimes it’s fun to wrap yourself in something so flattering, feminine, and unexpected. It’s one of those pieces that accentuates what truly makes women’s bodies so beautiful. It’s all in the curves! For my first night on the island, I soaked myself in with these luxurious surroundings…with a little shadow play.
