I really hope each and everyone one of you were able to kick your feet up this long Memorial Day weekend. I just got back from Mexico City, and luckily for the holiday, I was able to catch up on sleep, and have a full movie day back home in NYC. I recommend you guys catch a glimpse of The Florida Project, and if you’re a 90’s Harrison Ford enthusiast, The Fugitive. I remember these long holiday weekends as ones to go out and dance the night away, but more and more, I’m finding these holidays to be ones to really relax, unwind, and stay in. Because I’m always on the go or living on an airplane, I really value the little downtime I actually get at home. The most wild parts of me come out in what I wear. Take this incredible Nanushka animal-print blouse and pant for example. Twin-sets have lately become my grab n’ go. I think I’ve already worn this set multiple ways, mixing and matching it with the newness in my own closet, or worn simply on it’s own. Easy, easy, easy. The most wonderful thing about Nanushka is their ability to completely elevate chic, vintage classics. I snagged this set at their new pop-up at Platform in Culver City. There’s always a part of my heart back in Los Angeles. There are times I really miss it. Like today…I would give anything to be under this clear, blue sky.

NIGHT AT THE AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE

Style

Deep down inside me always lived a ballerina. I have been dancing for as long as I can remember. It’s a completely different form of expression and I love how cathartic it can be. I remember going to dance team and show choir practice with a feel of escapism at the end of a crazy school day. I would get outside of my own head. It strengthen both my body and my mind and increased my ability to focus. Memorizing a full routine and executing it with ease, grace, and emotion was the goal. Straight legs. Pointed toes. Shoulders down and back. Landing light on your feet. Jazz will always be my core form of dance, yet the idea of becoming a ballerina, with it’s elegance and precise form, always intrigued me. I got to imagine what being a modern ballerina would be like with amazing center seats at The American Ballet Theatre with the Tod’s team for a performance of Gisele, featuring the incredibly talented Roberto Belle. It’s nights like these in NYC that feel unreal. The performance was stunning. The shapes a simple choreography can create is pretty incredible with a cast of ballerinas in gorgeous white tulle skirts. I appreciate dance more and more, with a real craving to attend more live performances in the city. There’s so much to see and do in NYC, I always get overwhelmed. But there really is time to do it all. I slipped into this gorgeous black sequined trench dress by Each x Other for the night with a perfect Tod’s platform heel and studded bag. Super sleek and feminine, exactly how I imagined dressing for a ballet would be.

DOES IT COME IN PINK?

Style

Pink is my jam this season. Whether it be in a popping shimmer eyeshadow or glittering sequin top, I can’t get enough of it. Shades of pink follow me everywhere I go. From a soft coral coffee cup at my local cafe to the sun faded walls of the South of France, I notice it all. My everyday question “wait, does it come in pink?” Central Park blossoms in my favorite hue this time of year, and luckily, I was actually in town to celebrate it. I can’t help but take a moment to crawl under the cherry blossoms and squint up at the sky. Laying on the grass with the buzz of the city moving around me makes me feel like a kid again. It’s just you, the earth, and the clouds whisking by. Lately, I’m appreciating all of the little things my city has to offer and taking a moment to step outside a lot more throughout my day. I’m looking through the city with rose colored lenses because everything looks better in pink.

TO THE AFTERPARTY IN PUCCI AND MANILA GRACE

You may recognize these out-of-this-universe Emilio Pucci sneaker. They starred in my latest #PucciMonochromes campaign video, and I’m giving them a little comeback! They’re so good! I would never have thought a neon yellow pop would really compliment this red carpet dress from Manila Grace, but it just works. This is my after-party look. The red carpet dress paired with a shoe I can actually dance in. These past few weeks in NYC have been pretty insane. With spring in full swing, it seems like there is a gala or celebration just about every single night. Team Suarez has been having a blast with our nights out on the town. One of my personal favorites? Visiting a new hot spot in our neighborhood of Dumbo, Brooklyn: Soho House’s new Dumbo House. This exclusive new location to Soho House has been much anticipated for members around the city. It’s located right about the luxurious Cecconi’s restaurant and has stunning waterfront views of both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. Think sparkling chandeliers and delicious cocktails in glasses that could immediately have been taken out from the 1920’s. With plush velvet chairs next to floor to ceiling windows, it reminded me a posh little nightclub in London. As the Brit’s would say “so lush.”
