SEE YOU SUNDAY AT THE HUNTER GREENHOUSE

// See you Sunday linen top, Nobody Denim jeans, Brixton bucket hat, Beek by Two Birds sandals //

Sometimes you need those little escapes that feed your soul. Escapes that remind me of my childhood, of pure freedom, like running in the grass, getting muddy on my hikes through the mountains, and indulging in delicious homemade meals. The country reminds me of the suburbs of Los Angeles, my hometown. The sound of the birds and wind chimes with a cup of coffee in the morning. There’s something lovely about that small town lifestyle. A quiet place to lay down, look up at the trees, and dream. Driving to upstate New York for the weekend is my little slice of heaven on the east coast. I shacked up at the gorgeous Hunter GreenHouse with friends, amazing food, and music. It’s also home to sustainable brand, See you Sunday, designed right here in the CatSkills. The smell of their crisp linen tops will always bring back the memory of easy, breezy nights under the stars. I like my weekends for going back to basics. No makeup, a bucket hat, and a perfect pair of jeans. That and a chilled glass of rosé. Can I hold onto this moment just a little while longer?

A NEW YORKER IN PARIS

New York, London, Milan, and Paris. It’s that time of year again. Fashion month. I got to kick it off extra early last week in New Zealand of all places, and I am still recovering from the jet-lag. I’m using this holiday weekend to really just get my much needed sleep before one of the busiest months of the year. Paris is certainly the highlight. I love waking up in Place Vendome at the most beautiful place to stay, The Ritz Paris, before slipping away into a visual dream at each show. The locations, like here at the stunning Cartier chateau, are gems. It’s like stepping into a picture book. Every detail. Every corner is immaculate. I like my wardrobe to feel the same when I’m in France. This is what a New Yorker in Paris looks like. Leather trench coats. Printed tights. Tulle dresses. Accentuated shoulders. Pastel suits. In Paris, living and dressing is art.

CITRUS DELIGHT

// Epuzer dress, Parisa Wang bag, By Far shoes, Valet Studio earrings, Reliquia headband //

This is a citrus delight indeed. I find getting dressed monochromatically to be extra easy and by far, the most chic. I clearly have a thing for lime green and lemon yellow. Together, they’re a match made in heaven. Think Italian summers and sorbet ice cream! This week I’m gearing up for two weeks of travel and I’m mentally packing by color. My first stop is San Francisco so I’m dreaming up soft neutrals like navy and nudes. Then I’m off to Auckland, New Zealand where bold red and hot pink should easily brighten up this chilly city as it heads into winter. I am so ready for a little end of summer work trip mixed in with loads of adventure. Today I’m in right smack in the middle of the color spectrum where shocking yellows and greens are brightening up even the gloomiest of hot summer days in NYC.

LIME GREEN EYES

// Urban Decay eyeshadow, DiorShow mascara, Chanel powder, Laura Mercier blush, Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, Ronny Kobo earrings //

Green may just be one of my favorite colors. I picked up an Urban Decay eyeshadow palette and felt like bringing back the 80’s with this lime green shimmer. It’s funny how something so simple and subtle can completely change my mood. That’s what I love about beauty. The ability to transform and lift your spirits with just a little swipe of color. Sometimes a girl just wants to have fun. On the day-to-day, I get stuck in my 5 minute makeup routine: I love my usual bronzed eye shadow and berry lip. This summer I am switching things up and digging into my overflowing beauty cabinets and experimenting with new color palettes I’ve never dipped my fingers into. For this look, I like to do a single pop and keep the rest of my face pretty bare.  I nixed my usual cat-eye liner to let the green really do its thing, and just added a touch of mascara, a peachy cheek, and nude pink lip. Talk about fresh! How are you playing with color this summer?
