Yellow Streak

Shoeline.com S/S ’13 featuring the Born “Astoria” Sandal
Here is a first peek inside the details to my Shoeline.com S/S ’13 campaign shoot! The team was all about kaleidoscope colors, YELLOWs, BLUES, and loads of prints for the season. Here, I am with a little lift in their Born “Astoria” sandal. Shot in Coney Island, my wrists were covered in beads from my bumming beach days and travels, along with wristbands from last night’s party. Mixed in with my put-together look, I felt like quite the lady. I did get a little tan, and of course, left the shoot with some of my favorite kicks, including these beauties. Stay tuned as I post short snippets from my Shoeline.com print campaign!

Closer to Heaven

(“A Boy Named Sue” THU THU parka, Vintage Stones tee, Paige Denim boyfriend shirt, Minkpink flares, Ayelet Schacar leather belt, “Natalie + Dylana Suarez x Modern Vice” JETT MESSENGER bagAx + Apple longhorn and kaleiodoscope ring)

I’ve had this Stones tee for ages now. There’s holes on it’s back, under the arms, it’s a complete mess, but it’s still one of my favorite tees. The Stones performing up and center in Philadelphia?! Yep, it’s a priceless piece and I vow to never rid of it. I went back in time with my all denim look. So high of a waist to my flares that they go over my belly button, and of course, a ripped up boyfriend shirt. It’s something I’d find on a girl in the crowd of a highschool football game back in the 70’s, yelling and screaming with long loose hair and round sunglasses. I brought this look back to life along with this gorgeous THU THU parka. The little embroidery on the shoulders and beautiful stitching make it a completely worth-it designer splurge. With the sun as my only warmth, I can’t help but long for the warmer days to come. Can you say TEXAS, cowboy hats, fringe, dusty boots, and SXSW?! I’m stoked for my flight down to the Lone Star state. For now, my head is stuck in the clouds, dreaming up these next adventures as I head to today’s shoot here in the chilly city. At least up on my roof, I can daydream as much as I like. Just one step closer to heaven.

Runaway Cat

Philadelphia is one place where I can run around the streets and honestly, not even see a soul. It’s can get so incredibly quiet in my sister’s area called Fishtown that it can be so calming compared to NYC, where I literally step outside my doorstep and there’s no avoiding running into people. The homes are narrow yet long, and each have that gritty, “been here for decades” type of feel. Old drapes shade the windows, and the colorful paint of the closely rowed homes have been chipped for years. There’s a bit of charm in the place that I quite like. And it’s been cold. Really cold! Cold enough for a vest, a wool coat, velvet, and sweater all layered into one! I found this vest lying on my sister’s clothes rack and I fell in love with it. I needed that one extra layer before going out, and this quilted denim beauty was perfect. Shot on a sleepy weekend, I may have been the loudest thing on the streets that day, clickety-clacking in my western boots! Sometimes a sleeping city needs a little awakening.
