The Traveling Van

(Rebecca Taylor denim/leather jacket and skirt, Chaser Brand “Nat Geo” tank, Chloe “ethel” handbag, Kenneth Cole sneakers, Jennifer Zeuner “evil eye” necklace and wishbone necklace)
The 4th of July for me meant STARS IN MY EYES! Finally a day to get all of my friends together for no worries, just play! We had the most beautiful deck view on the westside, and I cannot wait to share the shots I took of the fireworks and all the crazy people in the crowd. HERE’S TO AMERICA, THE GREAT! These little sunnies were tucked away in my bag all week, and finally they’re able to make their little debut hehe. It’s my last day in NYC before I’m off for work in Barcelona tonight, and I am so so excited for a little change in scenery. Lately, the heat has left me slowly wandering my neighborhood in sneakers and a tank, yet this little white denim and leather jacket just couldn’t NOT be taken out. Rebecca Taylor, you can do no wrong! Plopped in the East Village was this old traveling van, so big, I tried capturing it all in one shot. Talk about one big party.
I’ve got just a few more hours to get all my travel necessities in check. See you in Europe babettes!

Zac’s Favorite Color

It being the first time at Zac Posen‘s studio, I took that moment to sling my camera around my shoulder that day…as behind the scenes images are usually always my favorite. Sitting beside Zac, I was blown away. We had our absolutely own mini-runway show right here in Tribeca, and honestly, I didn’t want to leave the cherryblossom-covered work abode, home to the fashion genius. Dresses I could only imagine seeing walking down the red carpet or just something plucked from a Cinderella fairytale, came to life. A model plopped down in that blue strapless gown and it looked like all she was floating on was a beautiful and lightweight cloud. He spoke of London, Primrose Hill, a place that inspired his latest designs (secretly I was swooning, as London has touched me like no other city). Immediately I knew I liked him and the beautiful creations, all carefully handmade right there in his studio. I could see just by the seamstresses, smiling as they sewed chiffon to the bottom of a starlet’s dress, that they loved their job, they loved the art, and it too made me smile. I felt like a little girl on Christmas when Zac threw the cashmere camel coat on me and took a photo. It matched my hat. Beige, his favorite color.

Cosmic Powers

(Everly dress, Worth & Worth hat, RAEN sunglasses, Modern Vice “CARLY” boots, Vanessa Mooney cuffbracelets/ boot accessory, Rila turqoise ringRabeanco leather backpack)

ICE ICE BABY! My current week, besides working and packing for EUROPE and drinking in 4th of July, will be used for looking for an apartment for Dylana. Yes, my beautiful older sis is moving to the city for her new gig and I couldn’t be more excited. I now fall asleep in bed, laptop in hand, with a full listing of apartments in front of me. I kind of like the adventure…I remember when I first moved to the city. I had just my bare minimum…some clothing, but one head full of dreams. I didn’t know any areas of where to live, and so I ended up moving about 5 times, until I ended up back in the East Village. I can’t wait to find her a cozy spot, otherwise, babe can stay with us hehehe! This weekend we tried our hardest on the prowl for the perfect spot, water bottle in hand, backpack in tow. Somehow, we ended up in Bushwick off the L train, just as the sun was setting. It’s been hot, hot, hot, and all I can really wear is a spaghetti little dress. The moment I spotted this GALAXY Everly dress online, I flipped. The print is gorgeous, and the colors so saturated. With the purples, the blues, the flashes of white…it’s really like outer space floating all around me. Cosmic powers literally taking over. A straw hat to shield me from the sun, I went by the ICE box in hopes of cooling down.

CRUEL SUMMER// JUNE E-BOOK// VOLCOM

photographed by Dylana Suarez for Volcom
I’m bringing you my latest Volcom lookbook, CRUEL SUMMER, shot by the amazing babe, Dylana Suarez. Her photography is BOMB, and of course, her work’s getting better and better over time. This story brings us back to those long summer days in the city…where you tie your tee into a crop top, and find yourself sun bathing on the roof of your apartment building, because Lord knows, the roof’s are the best places to be when in this concrete jungle of a city! Playing ball down in Chrystie Street Park, closing your mind from the street noise with giant headphones, backpack always tucked on my right shoulder…it’s going to be a cruel, cruel summer and I can already feel it. And color…we LOVE LOVE color. A swipe of bright pink neon lipstick is all you really need to re-apply during the humid days, and maybe a teeny tiny bottle of dry shampoo should always be kept in your bag. I’ll forever be living in sneakers, colorful chokers, and super light cotton layers. We’re excited to bring you more and more lookbooks overtime! Stay tuned. For now, keep layering on the sunblock! Shop this lookbook here on Volcomunity!
