Free People: Feels like Home

Just the other day, I took the train out to Philly for a fun, casual styling day at the Free People offices. I traveled with my two buds Claire and Christina…it was their first time ever to visit the city! As you can probably tell from my snapshots, the offices are super cozy and feel very much like home. I’m obsessed with all the wood details, exposed brick, quilted storage boxes, and comfortable couches. It’s like this fairytale dream world where everything is handcrafted and just super adorable! Doub, the FP creative director, along with the marketing team, set up a room for us to display the pieces from their latest catalog. Focused on a grunge, thrown-together vibe, it was right down my alley. Immediately I became inspired, gathered all of my favorite pieces and threw them on. I’m swooning over the little one piece romper. I believe that everything is always better with a leather jacket! This little playdate got me thinking about a few more holiday wish-list additions. What I’m craving? Those mini denim shorts, faux leather pants, and velvet intimates. In between our style session and exploring extravaganza around the building, we also met up with my sister, Dylana, and one of my very good friends, Cheryl, both of whom work in the home office! We eventually did lure them away from their desks for a quick coffee break just to catch up. It was such an awesome day in Philly…a place I go to almost every weekend and never ever get tired of thanks to all my Philly friends. This is just a sneak peek at my day, as I styled many more looks and took even more photos! For now, take a little behind the scenes look at my day with Free People on the Free People blog!

Steve Madden: Fringe Details

(Joie coat, LAMade crochet blouse, Kasil jeans, Steve Madden Armoryy boots)This may be my favorite Steve Madden shoe from my “Steve Brings It” Holiday campaign: the Armoryy boot. Representing west coast music festival, Coachella, the fringe detail is absolutely perfect and very playful. I just want to dance when I’m in these! They look amazing with a cool crochet blouse, a printed vest, and for the winter, a chic heavy coat topped off with a floral scarf. These boots are soo cozy, and probably the chicest moccasins I’ve ever seen!

In collaboration with Steve Madden, I’ve created some amazing

Coachella Party Entertaining Tips (for your rooftop or of course, in the middle of the desert):

1. Cook up an array of yummy hor d’ourves.. mini sliders and tiny cones of french fries are always a huge hit!
2. Whenever I think of Coachella, I think of flower crowns. Make some of your best friends flower crowns out of fresh or fake flowers, twist them on a vine and voila: you have an amazing headpiece. They look amazing with just about any outfit and always a cute party favor.
3. Next to blasting your favorite tunes, clear the furniture from your living room and turn it into one giant dance floor. Once one person starts dancing, everyone will want to join in!
4. Go for cooling refreshments in interestingly mixed flavors: try out an iced tea cinnamon cocktail. It’s the best!

Many thanks to all that came out to my own little desert festival at the Steve Madden store! We played around with the new boots, had super sweet cocktails, and completed our looks with gold leaf face art. Take a peek at my polaroids!

A Walk on the Wild Side

(Hallelu leopard coat, Volcom striped tank, Mango leather jacket, J Brand jeans, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Dolce Vita from Dear Fieldbinder boots)
I’ve been doing anything and everything to keep warm. I’m still adjusting to this really cold weather, which apparently will be getting MUCH colder. I can’t believe I started the morning off wearing shorts with tights. That was definitely a no-go. I immediately had to rush home to throw on a pair of jeans and this coat. One coat normally does the trick, but I’ve kind of been using my leather jacket as something of an undercoat for an extra layer…which doesn’t look too shabby! I feel like everyone and their mothers have some kind of leopard coat, but I find them completely and utterly chic, so I’m not ashamed of owning one myself. By the way, you must must check out these killer motorcycle boots I scored at Dear Fieldbinder. There really is no better pair. All I wear now are flat boots. Perfect for trekking around the city. I spent this weekend with my sister Dylana. All we had on our mind was Christmas shopping (aka I bought HER a bunch of gifts). I guess it’s so much easier to shop for someone when they are actually there rather than surprising them with gifts they’d never really use. Basically, I had a really relaxed weekend of shopping, seeing a few of my favorite bands place in the LES, and eating out. This week is already looking crazy w/ events, shoots, and a quick trip to Philly. Then comes the fun part…packing for the holidays in California. I’m dying to take back half my wardrobe because my closet is overflowing and has refused to close for quite some time. I just know the apartment is going to look like one big mess by the time I’m done with it!
