Remember those Woolrich vintage blankets you’d find on your grandmother’s couch? The heavy plaid blankets? Some red and blue. Others white, with the red, yellow, and blue stripes? They’re ultimate suburban classics. A staple in American TV history as it was somehow always the defining piece in every living room scene, simply thrown over a couch. I still have some stored in my closet for those really cold winter nights in New York City. But it’s the rare vintage Woolrich coats I still see sometimes at General Front St. Store in Dumbo I love, with the same classic colors and prints. Woolrich has collaborated with Woolmark, one of the best maker’s in wool, to recreate a vintage classic, fully updated. It’s seriously the softest, most luxurious wool coat ever. It’s so rare I find a wool that feels so incredible on my skin. No itching at all. I’m all about an off-white on white ensemble, even in the winter. My pals at Free People found this white jumpsuit at a sample sale, and it’s exactly what my mom in the 70’s would have had. Perfection. Here’s to keeping warm with a classic take on something all of America grew up with.
