My mom brought her vintage Bob Mackie dress to NYC and I am so happy that I got to finally wear it again. The last time I wore this beautiful piece was when I was 15 years old, performing in my high school talent show, singing and dancing a cover of “Ain’t No Other Man” by Christina Aguilera. It’s amazing that after all of these years, the dress fits even better, and I’ve always wanted to wear it to a special fashion event like this night, at the Saks Fifth Avenue Social Club dinner at 4 Charles. What I love about a Bob Mackie is that it is designed for performers. They are all glitz and glamour, worn by icons like Cher and Naomi Campbell. I can’t wait to collect more Bob Mackie dresses over the years. There are some I’m eyeing! Thank you to Mama Suarez for bringing back this stunning piece and letting it shine with new life on a NYC night out.

Vintage always holds a special place in my heart. I love a piece that tells a story. I wonder who wore this piece and where before I got it. I scored this vintage Thierry Mugler blazer at What Goes Around Comes Around in Los Angeles. I get a rush of excitement whenever I visit this cozy space filled with old treasures. You never know what you’ll find, and I’m always so pleasantly surprised and inspired by fashion all over again when I get in touch with it’s past. I threw this blazer on in the fitting room and fell in love with the elegant fit of it’s waist, the longer hem, and perfectly structured shoulder. There are some designers that create such artful pieces that just make you feel like a superstar. Thierry Mugler is one of them. I can’t wait for the day when stores like these come back alive. Where we can wander through the world’s most amazing fashion archives and stories, and become inspired once again by all of its beauty.

This by far my favorite vintage piece in my wardrobe, this stunning vintage Alexander McQueen ruffled blouse. And guess what? It actually is pure thrill when I shop their website. I get to sell items from my own closet as well as get access to incredible closets of the world’s most stylish women. Every single item is checked both for quality and authenticity before it’s shipped out to the buyer. When I start getting onto Vestiaire, I sit on my couch and flip through pages and pages of product. I checked the clock, and nearly 2 hours had passed. Once I start, I can’t stop. The hunt for incredible and unique new statement pieces for fall is super fun. I stumbled up this ruffled beauty and was taken into a Victorian dreamworld. The sleeves. The details! So intricate. Fit for a queen. It could double as both a perfect Halloween costume from medieval times, yet also works perfectly for a casual day at brunch off Abbot Kinney here in LA with a great pair of trousers. It’s versatile. It’s timeless. It’s a work of art! And when I received it, it was in such perfect condition and fit exactly right and true to size. I wish I knew more of the story behind the blouse, but it must have been hung elegantly in a glamorous closet in it’s hometown of Paris. I’m glad to be bringing it back to life.

There’s nothing more classic than a white turtleneck, denim overalls, and a shearling coat. It’s exactly what I’ve seen my mom wear in Santa Monica back in the 70’s. I’m here in LA this week for a shoot today and every time I’m home for work, I’m back to sporting this easy, vintage-inspired style. My mom had a coat just like this one when she was my age. It’s a bit of a West Side girl thing. We like anything comfortable. Things big and oversize enough to cuddle up in when the cool sea breeze rolls on in. This one in particular was passed down from my boyfriend’s grandma. It’s so good isn’t it? I’ve been taking it on my morning walks overlooking the cliffs of the Pacific Palisades. The sun shining in my face. Won’t everyday feel this good?
