I just got to play “Lay Lady Lay” by Bob Dylan to this photo series. I have worked with Sezane for so many years and it’s absolutely incredible to watch a brand grow so organically. Sezane lovers are true Sezane lovers. We’re talking lines outside the store on every product launch, and more Instagram buzz than you can imagine. It’s exciting to be a part of the love. It’s a brand that has and always be conscious of our earth, our humanity, and our surroundings, so it’s no surprise that their denim relaunch is 100% sustainable. Each pair is made of 100% organic cotton, and produced with recycled water. The denim processing is also waterless with an overall 83% less use of chemical productions and 2x less water used than regular production. I really can lay around in these all day. So for those of us who are taking more and more steps to a more sustainable wardrobe, we can start simply with a pair of jeans.

New Zealand Fashion Week, that is a wrap! When I think of New Zealand fashion designers, first that pops to mind is Karen Walker. Quirky. Colorful. Elegant. There’s something fascinating about visiting a new country and discovering new designer labels to love. And I travel far and wide to do so: Tel Aviv, Casablanca, and even Seoul! I’m proud to add New Zealand to my list of expanding fashion weeks around the globe. It really is discovering culture and ethics through clothes. This year’s New Zealand fashion week had a focus on sustainability. Every designer showcased designs sourced completely sustainably from fabrics, to factories, and final production. I find it important to support the designers with an ethical supply chain. Every piece tells a story. Every piece is slow fashion. And that just makes me really happy to know that the industry I love is working towards giving back to the earth we all cherish. Quality over quantity. That’s how it always should be. Below you’ll find looks from my viewpoint in the front row at Maggie Marilyn, YuMei, Paris Georgia, and Olli. With it’s luxurious fabrics and details with a whimsical flair, it felt like earth meets city. New Zealand may be a small country, but it’s doing big things.

I spent a few days out in Sayulita, Mexico and the gorgeous resorts of Punta Mita. I planned to pack light. Flowing silk kimonos, beaded dresses, and bikinis. And I want a shoe that really goes with everything and allows me to be on my feet all day long. It’s a brand that I believe in with such a powerful message and story. The plus is that they are totally cute, versatile, lightweight, and breathable. Just what I need under the hot Mexican sun. The patterns on my Rothy’s flats fit in with all the beautiful textiles I’ve been seeing in the little stores of this little surf town. Blues, greens, reds, and yellows. With every trip comes a story. This one was spent soaking in all things friendship, sisterhood, adventure, and finding new ways to take fashion and make a powerful statement. By celebrating summer with Rothy’s I want to spread the message that we should be a lot more conscious and how we travel, what we wear, and what we’re consuming. I now feel more aware of our planet with every single step.
