I don’t leave the house without a knit. It’s the finishing touch to my look. It completes it. I like taking something like a classic white pant and trouser, and transforming it. I love something that makes me stand out from the pack. St. John has some incredible little knit jackets and blazers. They are pure luxury. The St. John tweed knit jacket  reminds me so much of a vintage blazer you can only find in super special consignment boutiques. I jumped at this jacket once I spotted it online. It’s the fit. It’s the fabric. St. John is modern luxury and you can tell just by feeling it. Living in it. Why is black and white always so chic?!

I sported this look just as our crazy NYC weather took a turn. I’m completely welcoming in the warmth, rays of sunshine, and cool breezes that sneak in through my windows at night. Spring inspires me more than any other time of year to curate my wardrobe and recharge. Sticking with my basics and mixing in some new updated knits that can easily be thrown on… anywhere and anytime. And with spring, comes a ton of exciting projects. I haven’t had a day off, but I love every part of my job. The travel. The people. It’s this time of year I become more and more inspired to create. My job comes with a lot of planning. It comes with a ton of meetings with my team. It comes with a lot of conference calls and creative briefing. It comes with event hopping and meetings. People may not know that being an editor means creating the story, shooting the images, editing, writing. So much goes into one single post. Sometimes my days begin at 8am and end past 10pm! There’s certainly no time to rush home to Dumbo, Brooklyn to change before a dinner meeting. It’s funny how much production goes into literally one project, but I love every step and process of what I do. Story-telling. Creating. I took this look on a spin for a day of my usual meetings. My days begin with 2 cups of coffee before heading into my closet. I’m a master of the “throw on and go” ensemble. And it always revolves around black and white. I don’t need a tiny dress and sky high heels to feel sophisticated and feminine. A classic white blouse with necktie, a really adorable culotte, and of course, that statement knit. The look has never failed me. I promise everyone won’t be able to take their eyes off you in that important presentation in that next meeting. Who needs a dress, when you can make pants and a cool blazer your thing?

The wardrobe on set for my Nordstrom shoot immediately got me daydreaming and playing out the scenarios in my head. I was overwhelmed with excitement! Oh, and of course, I began planning out the outfits I would be wearing. It’s Cuba, so there will obviously be lots of dancing…dominoes…Cuban coffee…espresso…hours on the beach with a good book! It’s time to make use of my Español. I picture fringe, lots of it! Flared denim. Bold red shoes. A perfect little black dress. Crop tops. Embroidered sandals. I’m thinking color, and lots of it. Hair, wild and big! Earrings and necklaces, bold and oversize! Cuba is known for it’s individuality, slow pace, and beautiful colors. It’s like taking a step back in time. My inner Latina is having a ball as I mentally prepare. Be right back, this girl’s got a salsa dancing class to take and a plane to catch.

My love for really well-made lingerie continues. I’ve just discovered the perfect set from my go-to lingerie brand Natori here at Macy’s. This beautiful royal blue hue designed by Josie Natori matches everything from my curtains to my favorite blanket. It’s a color of comfort. It’s a completely new take on the classic tee-shirt bra. When I find something that works well on my body, hugs it in all the right places, and feels amazing on my skin, I just stick with it. I stick with what works and feels best for me, in any situation. Oh, Florence! How magical and beautiful you are! Dylana and I were in Italy for Luisaviaroma‘s bi-annual #Firenze4Ever weekend, and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts! With dinners at the gorgeous Palazzo Gondi, cocktails at Ex Manifattura Tabacchi, and a beyond pleasant stay at the grand, Villa Cora Hotel, every moment felt picture perfect. I was indeed living in a colorful and quirky Wes Anderson film. The pinks, the yellows, the blues, the golds. I couldn’t put down my camera. Villa Cora felt very much like it was out of a fairytale. So unreal. So grand. Every night was one to open your closet, and figure out, “Hmm, which party dress shall I throw on tonight?” Which heels will still allow me to dance till 2 in the morning? This little Marc Jacobs number was definitely a show-stealer, but wait until you see what we wore for our Luisaviaroma #SuarezSisters photoshoot shot in a gorgeous artist’s loft. We’re talking Alexander Mcqueen, Philosphy, Masion Valentino, Missoni, and Marni. All of my favorites. We were definitely dressed to the nines, and what better place than in the glamorous Italia?! In between interview sessions with editors who flew in from all over the world, you could find us in the sauna…or if you heard Justin Bieber blasting from one of the hotel rooms, it was probably us.

I’m all about experimenting with new beauty balms, and day creams. Now, I’ve kicked it up a notch with face OIL. Something I never thought I’d put on my skin. When it works, I stick with it.
