Summer 2022 was so beautiful in so many ways. Although I spent most of it in the city working, I had incredible weekends in Montauk. These were some snapshots right before the last clambake on the beach with the Vogue Eyewear team. A night under the stars, making a wish, was exactly how I wanted to end my summer.

This was shot for a new campaign with HOBO, and I am officially in love with this color they’ve created: bottle green. This campaign was all about our favorite day each summer: Summer Fridays. My typical Summer Friday requires a little imagination. It could be home on my couch with a travel book or out in Montauk by the sea. Relaxation is key.

I just got back from an absolutely beautiful and inspiring weekend in Montauk to celebrate the Maje Paris pop-up at The Surf Lodge. It feels good to get a little sun kissed. This collection is called Summer in Paradise, and for good reason. These colors immediately transport me to the sea, on the balcony, soaking in the sunset. This is my happy place. There is just so much vibrancy and life in this collection and it’s getting me so excited for the spontaneous summer weekends ahead.

I’m gearing up for the holidays on the East Coast. My very first ever. Normally I whisk myself back to Los Angeles to be with my family and soak in the hot sun, but this year, they are coming to visit me here in New York. Lucky me! It’s time to bundle up with our mittens, hop in a car, and explore what is outside the city. Here I am flashing back to an early fall weekend in Montauk with my family at Gurney’s. The resort was quiet. Peaceful. Nostalgic. The sound of the waves felt so deep and loud in the middle of the night. To wake up and hear it is just the best feeling in the world. I didn’t pack much. Just a crochet bikini and a lot of soft cottons and cashmere sweaters. It’s funny how I tend to blend in with my surroundings. From the nudes of the sand to the warm green from the all the brush, you’ll find bits of it in my wardrobe. I tend to be a chameleon when I’m surrounded by nature. You’ll even notice a lot of pieces here are from Sabrina SL‘s latest sustainable fashion collection. This woman is a dear friend and she too finds Montauk to be an incredible source of inspiration. The pastels like soft lavender and cloudy grey found in her pieces are inspired by Montauk’s ever changing sky. Just the thought of more weekends like this with loved ones puts a smile to my face.

There’s something magical about Montauk off-season. The beaches are quiet. The breeze allows me to wear my favorite sweater vest. I can sit on the balcony wrapped up on a blanket overlooking the waves in the sun. It’s crazy to think fall is really here and summer is over. My sister snapped up these images at the lighthouse. It’s been a while since I’ve shot a black and white series. The wind, the suit, and the waves seem more dramatic without any color. Even more beautiful. Funny enough, all l I remember was just how bright blue the water was, glaring back at me that day.

I know what you’re all thinking: This wetsuit is sick. I took this baby out for a chilled surf session out in Ditch Plains, Montauk with Cynthia Rowley and the team. She really does some of the most insane prints. I admire her love for color and graphic prints with a 70’s inspired touch. The team and I grabbed our glamorous surf gear and though we were hit with gloom and rain, it didn’t stop us from diving for the waves anyway. I’ve been super jet lagged after Singapore so this cold rush from the water really woke up my body and made me feel alive again. I can always count on surfing and swimming in the ocean to suddenly jump start me. My love for the sport began back home in California. Surf and skate culture were a huge part of my upbringing in Los Angeles. I remember modeling for everything surf/skate…my long, bleached locks, tanned skin, and messy bangs completely identified with rock n’ roll surf culture of the time. But it wasn’t until I stepped on my first board in Costa Rica that I became hooked. Then I surfed Nicaragua and Mexico. That adrenaline rush is what I live for. Whenever I catch a wave and stand up, I start screaming and yelling. It’s completely uncontrollable. Conquering even a small wave makes me so happy that I have to shout. Grungy surf style will always have a place in my heart, and I know that the laid-back look by the sea will never go away. I’m taking that part of my style, and elevating it with statement pieces like this perfect paisley wetsuit along with a delicate earring.  I wish I had more time to dedicate to the sport, but I’ll happily make the easy drive out to Montauk for a necessary afternoon pick-me-up.

Summer seems to be going by in a flash. I just wrapped up my latest work trips to Singapore and Chicago, and I am ready to spend some time at home, in New York. I have officially conquered all that was left of my jet lag, and now, I can really enjoy what is left of my summer before September travels start to creep up on me. I’ve needed a break from traveling so I intentionally planned my August to be one spent locally. I spend my weekdays in the city, with sunny Saturdays and Sundays out by the sea. The only reason to pack my duffel bag is for quick getaways to Montauk where I can surf Ditch Plains, shop at the farmer’s market, or simply go out dancing with my gal pals.

Take a peek at what a perfect wardrobe out east looks like, all of which I captured in PART 2 of my photoshoot for The Outnet. For this shoot, I wanted to celebrate all of the colors that make my summer feel alive. Think popping satin pink and bold tangerine orange. I also made sure to fit in my essentials: the All-American striped one-piece and the romantic eyelet white dress. But your eyes might head to the accessories, because they are va-va-voom! These Stella McCartney star platforms sure bring the glam to the down-to-earth streets of Montauk. I created a bunch of swoon-worthy looks for my latest shoot for The Outnet! Every piece is to die for. I gravitated towards bold colors, interesting silhouettes, and insane prints. The Outnet is luxurious to the max and their selections of clothes are so highly curated that every time you hit the site, there’s something outstanding. Pieces you can’t find anywhere else. I played around with some of my favorite designers here for Part 1 of our story: Rosie Assoulin, Haider Ackermann, and Marni to name just a few! Montauk will always be one of my favorite shooting locations. There’s nothing better than the open road and a quiet beach. This shoot was shot by my sister Dylana of course. She always creates soft, stunning images and I feel the most comfortable behind her lens.  With her, every shoot flows easy. We bounce ideas off each other, we get the light juuuust right, and most of all, everything feels more shiny when we’re together. With this shoot, we had the freedom to create anything we pleased…and with the most dreamy wardrobe. Sent in from London, our looks on set were brilliant. I’ve got you covered for just about everything you need for summer Fridays and weekends out East in the Hamptons. I say metallic blazers and high waisted silk skirts paired with nothing but a black bralette, monochrome twin sets, and the 90’s inspired sporty one-piece. I took my Audi R8 to Montauk this summer, and boy does this baby vrrooom fast. Summer never feels complete without a car and the open road. You just feel free, unstoppable, and more excited to explore than ever before. I was out east for a weekend work trip…but managed to squeeze in a ton of R&R. Montauk is a place I’ve been going to for years, but this time, it felt new, exciting, and special. With the usual stops, like dinner at Crow’s Nest and countless hours in the roman baths at Gurney’s, I also ventured out to Sag Harbor. We sailed away in a friend’s boat called The Kiwi in Sag Harbor out to the beautiful untouched shores of Gardiner’s Island. Some of the most peaceful beaches are out East…as are the memories.

There’s certainly a part of me that has outgrown the party scene that swarms the Hamptons each summer. Suddenly, I prefer to take early morning runs on the water, hikes on the cliffs during the day, and eat early dinners on the deck. That’s what I’ll miss most about this summer. The slow pace. The sun in my face. A healthier lifestyle…like simply being outside with the people I love. The sweetness of our hot American summers by the beach always warms my heart.

Here are a few outtakes from a recent campaign for Armani Beauty’s Code Colonia fragrance in Montauk, New York. It’s a scent that’s meant to be shared. What’s better than having a scent you and your lover can always come back to? For me, this one reminds me of romantic summer getaways together, from St. Martin to Ditch Plains. Here at Gurney’s Seawater Resort in Montauk, my bedsheets were as crisp and white as my favorite power suit…the perfect compliment to this fresh morning fragrance. We had some sunny days and some cloudy days, but each, equally relaxing with days spent in the indoor pool and nights by the fireplace. May the last weekend of summer and fresh whites-on-whites, live on.

This Labor Day for me is about playing catch up, as I have so many deadlines coming up pre-fashion week! Team Suarez is in the midst of so much craziness, we can’t really take the day off. But it’ll all be worth it once we hop on that plane for a quick getaway to Mexico City. Only 10 days. Yes, I’m counting down and not letting summer just slip through my fingers. I hope some of you are getting in those last bits of fun in the sun on this holiday weekend?! I sure may be out here in Manhattan today, but mentally, I’m back in the roman bath here at Gurney’s, bundled in a crisp robe. It’s by far my favorite resort in Montauk…you must visit! For now, it’ll be hard for me to hang up this absolutely perfect white power suit, but it has to be done. Until next year.
