It’s the weekend and less is certainly more. I’m packing a traveler bag of a few cozy pieces upstate today to our hideaway cabin to celebrate my birthday weekend! This Eileen Fisher minimalistic look works both in the city, and on the road. It’s so simple, but it’s rich fabrics make it you feel equisite. And did I mention they’re all part of her Eco Collection…made of organic, sustainable materials. The designs definitely remind me a bit of Japanese minimalism I saw overseas. Always long layers, always cropped wideleg pants. After finally getting back in the NYC groove after a week of work on the west coast, I’m ready to be a bit M.I.A this Saturday and Sunday. Karate chop outta here.

These are the days for hair tucked into turtlenecks and perfect A-line skirts. But in the midst of bundling in your favorite knits, it all comes down to the accessories. I’m officially getting back into watches. I’ve completely ditched my overly stacked bangles and spikey rings for a more tailored look this winter. The new COACH watches are minimal, and beautiful. I’m in love with this navy piece. It’s luxe and easily makes a statement. That, and the Coach western boot from the Fall ’14 collection. I’ll be living in these classics all year round. But it’s true. Sometimes you gotta just strip down to the bare essentials. A clean slate. No fuss.
