Brooklyn is officially in bloom. I stopped to smell the roses here at the beautiful Cadman Plaza. I like to take evening strolls here, or sometimes you might find me zooming by on my bicycle. As evenings cool down, I like to throw on a duster and a great pair of boots. My other little tip in recreating this look is to take some of your favorite high waisted wide leg jeans and cutting them into bermuda shorts. Get creative! I’m feeling grateful for all the little bits of nature I can get right now. I’m busy this weekend planning a road trip escape for the 4th and everything pictured here will certainly be packed in my duffel bag. Only the classics.

It’s contemporary. Meet these two stunning Stewart-Schafer icelandic sheepskin chairs…designed and made right here in Brooklyn. I’m so excited to tell you all about this amazing interior design duo.

Aren’t these two pieces just beautiful?! The black and white hide combined with sleek blackened metal legs just oozes luxury. Each hide selected directly from the farms in Iceland so that no piece is exactly alike. I fell in love with Stewart-Schafer because not only are they incredible furniture designers with a refined, elevated taste that sprouts from a design background and career extending from all over the world (we’re talking Rome, England, to NYC) but this husband-wife duo really bring their dynamically different viewpoints to each project they take on. It could be everything from architecturally designing a new space…to actually creating and producing the furniture. They do it all, and I love how hands-on they are with every single project from start to finish. Stewart-Schafer is all about focusing on form, quality, and a strong emphasis on distinctive material palettes. That’s what really drawn me to their work: a new take on contemporary design that’s timeless. Eclectic, but minimal. A statement, yet necessary. I can’t imagine how they could completely transform the rest of my home! We’ll have to wait and see!

This is certainly one of my most outstanding coats in my closet. The most luxe, yet worn on always the most casual of days. A constant head turner. I’ve worn it numerous times throughout the winter, yet this is it’s first appearance on le blog…and with a bang. So, how the heck do you get away with these bold jewel tones?

That is…by wearing black. Lots of black. Us New Yorkers know a thing or two about black. It’s classic. It’s chic. It’s elegant. It goes with everything. It’s necessary for our sunniest and even gloomiest of days. I paired this poppy red, royal blue, and teal coat with some of my favorite classics. A black patent leather skirt. A cashmere black turtleneck. My favorite Nike Airs. Funny enough, this is something super “casual” for me. I spent this busy afternoon running around Brooklyn looking at beautiful homes for my sister, Dylana (I’m so excited for her to also become a homeowner!) in Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill, two stunning areas that are extremely close to my home. We’re talking rows of brownstones you only see in movies. Quaint restaurants. Little wine bars. Artisan shops. Brooklyn to me is extremely homey with an endless amount of things to do, see, and explore. Of course, all I want is for Dylana to be my neighbor! Buying a home always feels scary and new…heck, I can’t believe I’ve been a homeowner now for already over a year! Once you find a home that feels right, it suddenly doesn’t feel so scary. Just think of all of the decor…and getting that thrill of excitement in making your creative space purely you. So BOSS. Just trust your gut and instincts. Same with getting dressed in the morning. Feel the feels and go with what works. Now how perfect is this Carroll Gardens street corner?

Sometimes you just want that rush to spook you out. Running through a dark cemetary, feeling the chill creep up from the grass. The only place to feel real silence in the midst of the bustling Brooklyn streets. We tip-toed through this Bushwick cemetary, finding it errily perfect for photographs. Shot back when the leaves were just changing. These were the days I found myself throwing on this luxurious fur coat, even if it was just for taking a walk to the grocery store. It’s funny these little things that bring you excitement.
