My gorgeous Chanel bag is making another quick appearance. It makes it’s way out of it’s precious garment bag for work trips to Europe or special meetings and events in NYC. It’s time I start wearing it a little bit more. But for now, it’s Easter weekend and I’m all about living in yoga pants..full off-duty mode right now. It is officially the holiday weekend for me and though I will be editing in Premiere Pro with the team and reviewing projects (we have an intense week of shoots coming up), I am still very excited to sleep in on a Sunday and thoroughly enjoy my 24 hours of downtime. It may be spring in NYC, but the breeze is still cold enough to wrap myself up in a shearling coat and little leather gloves before heading out anywhere. I’ve had this stunning Coach jacket for a while now. I’ve never had it photographed, but I wear it so much. It remains a favorite staple piece in my coat closet. Slightly cropped, a little boxy, with an epic and unique mix of purples. You can probably tell that I’m constantly walking on the sunny side of the street and easing into spring by switching out my darks with my lights. Think a cropped off-white jean (I have a slight obsession with Mother Denim) and fun pops of color down to my socks. In NYC, we sort of skip spring and hop straight into summer. I will be anxiously awaiting that day and the smell of hot, steamy summer nights.
Milan Fashion Week is wonderful in that in-between shows you have all the pasta and pizza in the world right at your fingertips. Heaven. I was just in town with Tommy Hilfiger for once again, one of the biggest shows of the season. The #TOMMYNOW show is a production, and you definitely want to be invited. There’s always incredible music and most of all, an insane energy that just radiates during fashion week. I’m talking crazy huge crowds and one of the largest red carpets I’ve ever seen. It certainly was a star-studded event with an audience of people flown in from all over the world, just for this one show. At my fitting I went for a classic All-Americana sheer jersey and trouser pant. It took me a quick 5 minutes to finalize my look…easy. I love that Tommy gives me a reason to sport my casual reds, whites, and blues anytime of the year. And head-to-toe sheer in freezing Milano? Anything for Tommy, of course, with a little tug on my winter coat. The venue was so big, I may as well call it a stadium. Race cars lined the runway and I couldn’t help but climb up on a few tires for an epic view of the space. It had been completely transformed into a fire engine red race track inspired by all things fast and furious. The models came out in crop tops, bombers, and killer biker shorts made for putting the pedal to the metal. Coming from a girl who loves to drive, the energy was electric. A super fun race car track in the middle of Milano was just what the city needed this fashion week.
Nicaragua is such a special country. It’s a spot that always makes me feel so much closer to the earth. The country fully embraces the simplest parts of life. That includes eating a nourishing meal grown on their very own farmland, along with a simple smile everywhere you go. It inspires me to do the same. I spent a full week at Aqua Wellness Resort in Nicaragua for my annual tropical getaway with my two favorite ladies: my sister Dylana and our best friend Kiara. We have all been in need of a little sun and salt water after a snowy winter and thought, why not get away to Nicaragua…take epic images of this beautiful country and thoroughly enjoy a week by the bay?! In the past, we’ve travelled far and wide to places like Whistler in Canada, Peninsula Papagayo in Costa Rica, and Tulum in Mexico. Every single time, we pack a suitcase of our favorite Teva sandals. Teva sandals are every adventure monkey’s staple. And not just in the summertime…I am talking year round. I even wear them at the airport with socks because why travel with anything else? A top Teva sandal favorite of mine is the new Terra-Float 2 Knit Universal sandal. It has a woven, quick-drying knit with FloatLite technology, meaning it’s ultralight and durable. They feel incredible on the soles of my feet and really mold to them.
They work amazing for girls like us, who live for the outdoors. The beach, the mountains, festivals, wherever. We go anywhere we can hike, swim, run, and fully disconnect from our crazy and hectic city lives. The less wifi the better. We’re constantly moving whether it be morning stretches at yoga or late nights for a little paddle board mediation session. Days were spent eating dragon fruit bowls and photographing the colorful streets of neighboring towns like San Juan del Sur, while nights were spent in our plunge pool, peacefully listening to the monkeys howling beside our tree house. My favorite parts of the day were waking up and falling asleep to the soft sound of the crashing waves in our bay. I have never felt so present and so in tune with Mother Nature and my body before. It’s amazing what friendship and a little Vitamin D can do for one’s spirit. With Teva, I can fully be as the hashtag states, able to #StrapIntoFreedom. Freedom to hop over rocky beaches, freedom to hike the trails to the bustling town of Playa Gigante on a Saturday afternoon, and freedom to simply get lost in a beautiful new place on my own two feet. My Teva sandal tan is the best tan I’ve had yet. Every time I look down I’m reminded of all the beauty in the world these feet have been able to walk through.
I have worn Vitamin A Swimfor years. Their classic neutra bralette top and hipster bottom is what me got me hooked. I have this triangle bikini in almost every single color. Nothing else fit my body like this amazing eco-luxe suit does! What do I mean by eco-luxe? The eco-luxe suits are made of superfine matte jersey with superior stretch, made in California with RECYCLED nylon fiber. The incredible fit comes largely from the amazing fabric and graphic silhouette. How amazing is it that now we can have everything down to our swimsuits be eco-friendly and sustainable? Vitamin A is super cautious on how we can preserve our planet and go green. I swear the Neutral eco-luxe suits looks incredible on just about every body type. Here in Nicaragua, at the Aqua Wellness Resort, it reminded me why we should be conscious of our planet in the first place. So much of Nicaragua feels untouched from the beautiful secret bays to the monkeys and birds that lived by our treehouses. It’s what makes the country special. I feel gratitude knowing that more and more people are becoming involved. Our beautiful planet is delicate so let’s take better care of it even if that means starting in a small way. Maybe that means using less water by taking shorter showers. Maybe it means remembering to turn off the bathroom lights when you’re not in it and cutting down on electricity. Maybe it means having a recycling bin in your house so you just don’t forget. If that doesn’t feel like a luxury, know that making a change will in the long run. Through the years I’ve become more caring simply by adding a little thought that go into my normal everyday actions and saying no to waste. Start small and get yourself one of these eco-luxe bikinis. You’ll thank me later.
