WHEN IN ROMA

unamed-back

When in Roma, and traveling in 90 degree weather, wear only shoulder baring tops. This year I have been traveling so much, and I have still so much to fill you in on. This was my last day in ITALIA. Looking back, I have thoroughly enjoyed living my entire summer in this one pair denim shorts, having the craziest tan ever, and the blondest of locks. Since then, I’ve colored my hair back to a chocolate brown, and back to my normal olive shade. It is only in Italy that you can just eat pizza and canolis all day…sit in a square, and watch the artist’s paint an image of the city. You sometimes deserve to treat yourself to an escape that feels much like out of a movie or fairytale. I remember just arriving in Rome, and hopping on the back of a scooter taxi. We were far too tired from our roadtrip to walk. We slept in the back seat as we dodged traffic through the noisy streets past the Colosseum, our driver shouting and ringing her bell. So hot and smoldering, I had to squint just looking up at it. But still, happy as can be. It’s nice knowing you can cool off with a perfect glass of white wine on any street corner. But now, can you believe it’s mid-fall? All I can smell are the pumpkin spice lattes and pine cones. My wool winter coats are finally making an appearance…as are my leather jackets. I’m currently in San Francisco. Making my way to LA in the afternoon, and planning a Caribbean work trip in the next month. Somehow trying to fit in my birthday with friends in the mix. Who says you need sleep when you’ve got places to go…and people to see?!

And due to limited wifi, I realized not one of my Snapchats posted. Luckily, I have them saved..for memories. Now watch them on my YOUTUBE.

SISTER SWIRLS – NYC to SEOUL

fashion-month-natalie-suarez-5

Dylana and I love to take our 70’s inspired favorites and mix it in with our minimals. I loved this look from NYFW. It’s cozy enough to wear time and time again. Those psychadelic swirls, nubby leather coats, and Dy’s extra pink sunnies. I’m currently in SEOUL, South Korea, for their fashion week (who would have thought it’d still be fashion week in the month of October?!) and I’m super inspired by what we’ve been seeing on the runways. Eclectic layering. Boyish blazers. Simplistic street style. There’s everything here. But what I’m loving most is the Korean bbq and killer face masks (ever heard of a broccoli or snail muccus face mask?!) Stay tuned.

BANG BANG

I have lately been obsessed with Nancy Sinatra. Hearing “These Boots Were Made for Walking” in a Brooklyn bar moved me the other night. I couldn’t stop playing her tunes. Here I am dancing, shot by my amazing sister Dylana, singing my own rendition of Nancy Sinatra’s BANG BANG. Recorded with my guitar in my bathroom today. My favorite way to do it in my opinion. Bare bones.

Dylana has been making this series of beautiful videos featuring all of our friends doing what they love most. For me, it’s dancing, pretty dresses, and singing soulful tunes. I am excited to take part in the first clip! She always makes magic in front of or behind the lens. Love you sis.

Enjoy.

ON THE AMALFI COAST

unnamed-25

Amalfi is indeed one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The pastel, sunsoaked walls of the beautiful homes just perched so perfectly on the side of the cliffs. Baby pinks, peeling whites, faded orange, and lemon yellows. The way the plants, fruits, and vegetables grow is just amazing. So lush. So vibrant. Amalfi is so full of life. Just like the rows and rows of candy-colored beach umbrellas lining the beach. We swerved in our Fiat 500 this way and that, through the tiny roads on the cliff overlooking the blue-green waters down below. Our speakers blasting. My map in hand. I felt like I was in an old romance novel. Only the sounds of splashing water, motorcycles zooming by, and wine glasses clinking. Nothing felt real. I just wanted to pinch myself as I let my hair fly with my head out the car window. I could have spent forever floating in those crystal clear waters. Laying back and looking up into the clear blue sky. Squinting at the houses perched high up in Rada. Days were spent at the beach in a tiny red and white striped bikini. Nights in my spaghetti strapped dress, sipping bellinis in Positano, the neighboring town that just screams old school ritz. All in all, Amalfi has that charm and gorgeousness that is not at all intimidating, but rather welcoming. I can’t wait to return to this magical place that glitters everywhere you look.

Where to next?! ROMA.
