GAP TOOTH

red-nyfw-5resized.jg

Deart Parents, why why why why why did you make me get braces along with those horrible visits to the dentist when I just could have been a giant gap toothed BABE?! Sigh. Gelareh Mizrahi is bringing it back, with her snakeskin red Lara Stone python bag (part of her “stoned” collection. why I love it even more) Red has been my color lately, and not just because of Valentine’s Day. But because: GONG XI FA CHOY! It’s Chinese New Year…a reason to wear red for good luck, and celebrate with friends over dumplings and jasmine tea. With the new Lunar year, I’ve already saged, cleansed, and feng shui’d everything I could get my hands on. It’s only positive vibes from here on out.

GALAXY

I’ve been using neoprene as my blanket as of late. Us New Yorkers have to experiment once your favorite wool sweater accidentally gets destroyed in the wash. A galaxy printed neoprene flare, and oversize neoprene bomber. Have I gone overboard?! Maybe. Made for a scuba dive or a day out and about during NYFW. Crazy, but it’s just fashion baby.

STRUT YOUR STUFF | NYFW

nyfw-streetstyle-6resized

NYFW was brutally cold, but insanely fun. I mixed some of my favorite leather pieces, and broke it up with extra chunky socks, and fur scarves. Oh, not to mention the absolutely perfect pair of oversize sunglasses. (Gentle Monster, you rule.) So many shows had that 60’s, 70’s influence that already rules most of my current wardrobe. The oversize suede trench coats and patent leather mini dresses. Waist belts so high that even your mother’s highwaters couldn’t top that. But then there was the unexpected sparkles at Milly, and dramatic minimalism at Yigal Azrouel.  Tomboy vibes at Ji Oh. Like always, anything goes. Take a peek at my favorite front row snapshots. Time to strut your stuff girl.

Seconds to Showtime

This season was a bit different for me. There’s always that heavy show schedule, endless drama in the front row, and countless outfit changes. But this time, I had a lot more time backstage shooting. And sometimes being behind the lens, and behind the scenes feels so good. I love to switch up, and give you some unexpected surprises. I partnered up with the incredible Wella hair team, who flew in from London, to work on these two out-of-this-world shows with their brand new EIMI products. Jeremy Scott and DKNY. Both incredibly unique, yet still stunning. I loved watching the Wella team at work. They’re all about experimenting, and playing with standout style.

Can we talk about those hand painted bobs?! Who knew these shaggy wigs could look dreamy on just about any face. And with that heavy, bold lid. SWOON. I love color. This show was incredible to shoot. Quirky and just downright fun. Silver streaks here…a splash of neon green over there. It’s theatrical and over the top. Just what I like.

DKNY is classic. Always. And that’s what I love about the designer. Against the beautiful silhouettes, they went with something a little less perfect. A wispy, effortless look with a twist. A flattened top, with perfectly placed “fly-aways.” If only flyaways always looked this good.
