You get this funny tingling feeling when you wake up on the Sunset Strip, to the perfect glowing sunrise. I put on my glasses, and headed towards the window. The tiny houses perched on the hills. The sun so hard in your face you have to squint. Hollywood is well, Hollywood. I know it all too well. I grew up in LA. Everyone wants to make it. The Sunset Strip is known for it’s glitz and glamour, studios, and movie sets. The parties, the rock n’ roll. I was just in LA for a shoot, and checked right in at the Sunset Tower Hotel. I was so jetlagged that I woke up at 5am tossing and turning, wishing it was my calltime already so that I could hop in the car and go to work. Instead, I waited till the sunrise, did some stretching, and started to unpack.
It’s here! It’s here! The beginning of my series of shopping confessions for Nordstrom Rack! In San Francisco, I was working with theNordstrom Rack team in releasing the #ShopGenius campaign. What’s new in Nordstrom Rack stores this month? Festival and TRIBAL trends with pops of color! Every month, the store’s product highlights a trend, and I have to say, all the festival/tribal product fit me to a T. The cargo jackets, beaded skirts, washed denim, and wrapped head scarves! I want it all. And all at killer prices. Can you say COACHELLA?! Lollapaloooza?! You’ll always find me in the designer section scoping out what just hit the shelves!I fell madly in love with this black and white giraffe print by Jagger the Label. It’s SO bold, that I kept it pulled together with a snake-skin gladiator sandal, and mini feather Rock n’ Rose headdress for a tiny pop of color in my hair. And it’s all about the chic, structured lines this month as well. The perefctly tailored high waisted skirts, made for tucking in oversize tees. I’m ready to take this eclectic look from festival to festival….jungle to jungle.
MY CONFESSION OF A SHOPPING GENIUS is: I refuse to go with just one print.
I’ve always had a major crush on MINKPINK…the brand defines my summers and inspires my travels every single season with it’s bold and kickass prints. Yesterday, I hosted the MINKPINK event at BLOOMINGDALE’s SOHO! I had so much fun styling the super cute ladies who came by! Thank you babes for hanging out with me all afternoon! Dylana…of course, being the perfect lady to capture every moment of the #sunsetandspring inspired selection, being a true MINKPINK girl herself. I’m a real print on print type of girl and took this extra mini blue frock and topped it off with the perfect pink kimono. Pieces I’ll wear separately or together all summer. This TILE PRINT being almost everyone’s GO-TO at the event. Crop tops, polka-dot denim, and the perfect blue romper…MINKPINK has it going on this season. Just what I’ll need for those hot NYC days at the park…or those steamy sunsets in Bali. Wherever this summer takes me, I’m all set.

Coachella for me was all about SIWY DENIM. I had just shot for their latest ad campaign…now out in FLAUNT magazine (EEPS!), and we celebrated out in the desert, under twinkling lights and surrounded by silver airstreamers and cactus! Talk about one killer desert night! En route to the festival, I wanted nothing but to finally get a tan on my limbs, and shimmy’d my way into this tiny, but amazing pair of cut-off shorts. The Madeleine in RIDERS OF THE STORM. I knew I’d love ’em the moment I heard their title. I love the rips, the softness of the denim, and extra large pockets peeking out. Best with a knee high gladiator sandals, flowing blouse, and feather headdress! California always get me back into my native roots. I could live out in the middle of nowhere if I just had the people I love with me by my side. Turqoise jewels. Sand on my toes. The wind through my hair. Taking the open road at full force is what it’s all about! After making a tiny detour in search for the cactus garden, we finally made it to Palm Springs. Our adventures just beginning.
