Refinery 29 x Timberland photographed by Sunny Shokrae
I love, loved this shoot with Refinery 29 featuring all of my favorite Timberland Earthkeeper boots! Remember I just shot their Fall ’13 campaign? Well, this time, I got to take two of my top winter Timberland favorites and dress them down for our shoot in DUMBO, Brooklyn. My very first home in NYC. Just a few minutes walk from my old apartment, we discovered a whole new area that none of us had ever been to. It was beautiful. Like a perfect fall NYC day. The quaint, colorful doors, and crackled cobblestone streets, lined with gold leaves. I went with Timberland’s amazing brown heeled ankle boot, and a good flat lace-up boot. Both have quality and style that I am obsessed with. For the heeled bootie, I love it with a cuffed, destroyed boyfriend jean, a loose white tee, cordury coat, and a plaid shirt tied around my waist. With a good heel that’s not too short, and not too high, it immediately elongates your legs, yet are still so comfortable for a long day of walking. And I dig that little braided detail. The whole look was inspired by the grunge vibe of Brooklyn.
The second look was so inspired by the classic varsity jacket. This red and white jacket reminds of those late-night football games back in highschool, under those bright stadium lights. It definitely has a bit of a school-girl vibe, but it’s still so classic, dressed down with a cut-out flared minidress and brown lace-up boots. These boots look better the more I scuff them up and the more I wear them. The green laces are just the finishing touch. I’m obsessed with these tomboy kicks.
