SATURDAY SUEDE

(Stuart Weitzman boots, Ralph Lauren trench coat (similar), D.RA floral dress, Lucky Brand leopard hat, Kamryn Dame silver cuff, The 2 Bandit turqoise cuff, BOERA knuckle ring, Aimee Kestenberg backpack)

It’s like these boots came out of my dream. The Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee badboys that I’ve always wanted are now stomping all over the east village. Just the other night we celebrated their Kate Moss film and campaign and it got me even more excited for fall, and got me thinking about London, their wonderful accents, and badass attitude. I picked the slouchy suede boot. Soft enough for everyday wear with a sexy low block heel. I like feeling a bit like a modern Edie Sedgwick, or my other favorite, Jane Birkin. Luckily the city has cooled down just enough to trench-weather. The slight chill being just enough for a light, light coat, oh, and my favorite leopard hat that I just rediscovered under a giant pile of clothing. My new furry friend is an Aimee Kestenberg backpack…I love this Aussie, her office is in the same building as the factory where we make our shoes. She’s such a gem, and I can’t take off this bag, it’s too good. I’m already eyeing the other colors, I’m that obsessed. Anyways, THANK GOD IT’S SATURDAY. Next week for me is jam-packed with work, so I’m taking today to finally get a bit of relaxation, and grab my boyfriend’s hand, stroll the city streets, and hide under my giant hats. The car is waiting in case we have a spur-of-the-moment decision to drive up-state. We’ll see what happens.

HOT TODDY

(Johnny Was dress, Free People blouse, Cleobella satchel, Kenneth Cole boots, Vanessa Mooney rosary necklace (similar), Andy Lifeschutz ring)
The rustic reds, the browns, and peaches of the color spectrum, are my go-to shades for fall. The shades of honey may be the best way to describe what I’m thinking of. Anyways, it’s the first day of fall and there’s already that super crisp bite in the air the minute I step outside of my apartment. The quiet mornings downtown always being my favorite time to take a quick breather. I’m currently taking all of my spring favorites and layering them up for the sudden chill. This sunflowered blouse I’ve been wearing all year long, paired over a lace flared dress, and some rockin’ vintage inspired boots. I’m working with Kenneth Cole on their #boldfashion and #30yrsbold campaign, and when I spotted these badboys on the shelves, I knew they had to be mine. Slightly victorian, slightly rocker chic. Shot here after a long day’s work by Dylana, we were both a little too tired, our hair a bit of a mess! We’re all so ready for a long weekend. Can you say apple picking?! I’m already thinking of how to fit all the cozy East Coast fall activites into my weekend schedule. Halloween, October, pumpkin spice, and hot toddies. I’m ready to curl up by the fireplace.

THE SWIM DIARIES

(Triangl Swimwear White Neoprene bikini, RVCA kimono (similar), Estuaries one-piece swimsuit, Mary Grace blue printed bikini, Vanessa Mooney choker (similar) and beaded necklace, The 2 Bandits silver cuffs (similar) and longboard ring, Ax + Apple horn and spike silver ring, Wildfox Couture sunglasses)
It’s never too late for a swim round-up! When I was in LA for work, I made the most of using my parent’s pool. Lying back and squinting up at the palm trees. You won’t believe how many swimsuits I have. Neoprene. White. Retro. Classic. Psychadelic. Oh, and I live in NYC…a place you’ll rarely whip out a bikini unless you somehow end up in a car to the Montauk (on a good day). I packed them all for my California adventures. I miss having my hair wet, and chilling on our row of white chairs, shaded by a high brick wall. That lazy “I’ve had way too much sun” high. This white two-piece is by cult Australian label, Traingl Swimwear. Neoprene, and the whitest of white, it’s the best with a tan and soem good waves. The one-piece happens to be by local NY designers of Estuaries. I met them on the 4th of July and fell in LOVE with this “shorts” one-piece, reminding me of the best beach bums of the time….Brigette Bardot and Marilyn Monroe, all rockin’ the short shorts. And last but not least, the adorable Mary Grace blue suit…the tiniest of all, with a Mexican tile print, that could easily take me to Tulum and back. These babies are going to have to wait till next year to come out and play. UNLESS that island adventure we’re talking about still fits in our schedules. We’ll see! I’d have no problem throwing one of these on again.

ROSY NYFW

(Ti-Mo dress, Kenneth Cole bag, Dr. Marten “clemency” boots, GANT sunglasses)
So life is beginning to feel normal again. Fashion week, I love you, but sometimes I just wish I could watch and movie and curl into bed extra early, with no thoughts on what to wear in the morning. Yep, it becomes that time of year when even the sanest of people lose their sanity, and dress way crazier than they ever thought possible. Best way to avoid that situation? A dress. This little pink lace and silky rose number buttons up to my neck, but loosely hangs the body. I’m obsessed Ti-Mo! I’ve been wearing their stuff A LOT this fashion week. It’s that Norwegian style I guess! Paired with my favorite platform Docs, and I could have been walking in Shoreditch for all I knew (take me back London!) Anyways, there were a number of shows that impressed me. My camera came along for the ride. New label, SAUNDER, blew me away as they dug for bones, but in stunning gold dresses. Set at The Highline Hotel, it was a bit like out of book. As if these secret spies were doing reseearch…and the dirty work, all but in stunning pantsuits and printed silk numbers. And then there was Sass & Bide…Australia blowing me away constantly. Such a star studded event, there was probably ever girl called ‘It’ seated next to me. I fell for the sheer polka-dots, whites, and most especially, that pink tux with the low, low V. I need that in my closet right now. It’s been a rosey NYFW and I have so, so so much more to show you.
