Roller Derby

As a kid, I was OBSESSED with skating. I’m pretty sure I had similar ones, just of course, not as rad. All I remember is clinging to my mom’s arm in Santa Monica, hoping to not fall on my bum. But now, these bad boys have just joined my closet and I can literally stare at them all day. They were made custom-made just for me by my good friends Jordan and Jensen over at Modern Vice! Fit perfectly to my foot, these Modern Vice x Klingbeil roller skates are insane! They just ooze roller derby cool and I’m pretty sure I’d kick anyone’s ass in these in the rink hehe. The leather is beyond superb and the red-hot shade reminds me of a spider…or something equally badass. I can’t wait to take them for a spin down the Venice boardwalk with some rock n’ roll skinny jeans, a leather jacket, and some messy beach hair. Doesn’t get any better. Or maybe a silent roller disco?! There are countless things I want to do in these and I can’t wait! If you see some string bean rolling down Central Park uncontrollably, it may just be me. Anyways, this killer skate was made right here in the heart of NYC, and there was definitely a lot of work that went into each and every detail! My name engraved in the skates make them all the more special. Modern Vice, you rock my world.

Overlooking You

Back at Coachella, I spent a little too much time in our Palm Springs backyard, basking in the sun, overlooking all that’s below. But even the incredible views and swimming pool didn’t keep me from jumping on the next shuttle en route to INDIO, where all the bands played. With the ferris wheels, makeshift domes, and psychedelic square patios, the Coachella grounds were like a whole different universe. It was the perfect, peaceful break from my crazy NYC life. And finally, the tan is starting to show up on my skin! All I felt like wearing were rocker tees with an insane amount of holes, funky little floral shorts, and the Muubaa red leather (which I never let leave my side). My wrists held jewels that I gathered throughout the trip and of course, my right arm displayed the wild amount of wristbands collection from the shows. Music festival season is indeed my favorite time of year. Though New York just decided to get all cold and rainy, summer is slowly creeping closer and closer. I can’t wait for the day I can once again slip into a tiny pair of shorts and some killer lace-up boots.

A Queen without a King

Happy Happy Saturday everyone! It’s about time I actually spent a weekend here in NYC. I’m always gone visiting friends, or just downright not here for some reason or another. Remember? I hate staying in one place for too long therefore, I’ve shamelessly become a pro at packing suitcases. But I’m super stoked to take on the city this weekend. These rock n’ roll babes have inspired me to be young, wild, and free. Leather, denim, and loose long dirty locks are the epitome of effortless cooooool. I’m swooning.

A Foreign Land

(Free People from REVOLVE clothing dress, Frye “Carson Lace-Up” boots, Thread and Stone necklace and ring/bracelet, Penny Royal Studio Anchor bracelet, Wanderlust + Co beaded bracelets)
Coachella, and just being out in the middle of nowhere, really got me to play around with all sorts of prints and cuts. I fell in love with this Free People piece the moment I laid eyes on it. The exposed belly and voluminous skirt was just perfect for that gypsy sort of feel I was going for. Plus, it was killer to dance in. All I’m seeing is blue and I love it. It’s one of those pieces that could be something a girl living in the desert her whole life made with her own two hands. It’s that good! I already miss you Palm Springs with your endless rows of mountains, cactus, and clear skies. I’d soak in your sun any day…
