A Little Rock n’ Roll

(Elkin dress, Mango jacket, Wanted flats, Melie Bianco bag, Ax + Apple necklace)

Just the other day, it was totally fine to walk outside with bare legs and a minidress. Not anymore! I’m already freezing my butt off in my new uniform of a giant parka and scarf. Also, I have a terrible cold thanks to the ridiculous amount of wind and rain we’ve experienced this week. Sitting in front of the TV…cradling a large cup of English Breakfast Tea (milk and sugar please!)..my way of getting well and QUICK. Anyways, here I am on my rooftop before the weather did a crazy turn a few days ago. Normally I don’t wear a lot of black, but after receiving few new black pieces from LA based label, Elkin, I quickly found myself turning to the dark side. The baby doll shape is still new to my wardrobe, but I’m enjoying it’s femininity. We’re talking major movement and lots and lots of leg! Although the dress it totally girly and fun, black on black with red lips always gets me in a rock n’ roll mood. Of course I had to throw in a few pops of color: leopard flats and this adorable Melie Bianco bag. Her bags are affordable, environmentally friendly, and downright amazing for running around the city with. I had the pleasure of shooting her latest campaign as well. Check out my photos for Melie Bianco here!

A beautiful weekend is ahead for us in New York! Hope yours is just as swell! I’m trying to rest up and get well before next week, which is bound to be spectacular.

Bouncing Around Bond Street

(Lulu’s coat, Club Couture button down, MiH jeans, Tory Burch shoes, Botkier bag, Saint Claude necklace, Milor/Vanessa Mooney/Jewelmint rings)

In between work and castings, I’ve managed to squeeze in a few press events as well! I love visiting the beautiful showrooms and getting a glimpse of collections from new up-and- coming designers. Already, I have a stack of lookbooks that I’ve been flipping through, jotting down notes next to the pieces that grab my attention for next Spring. Best part though is getting to bounce about town with one of my very good friends Christina, who snapped up these photos of me on Bond Street. Always, I find this street quite magical. Just off the bustling shopping area on Broadway, it’s surprisingly quiet, and the light somehow bounces off the buildings in an unreal way. Visiting these showrooms already displaying Spring collections has gotten me in a warm weather mood, but it’s obviously just BEGINNING to be fall here. And so, take a look-see at the newest addition to my wardrobe: a rust fur collared coat. I’m kind of obsessed. Whenever I’m a bit under the weather, I’ll throw on this bad boy and instantly feel like the boho rock chick I’ve always dreamed of. Oh and to top it off, I got a rad manicure from NCLA! The navajo print couldn’t be more perfecto.

Fall Must-Have: Cable Knits

(White + Warren cashmere sweater, H&M skirt, Dolce Vita boots, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Accessorize rings)

Taken just after a photoshoot down in Tribeca, I became inspired by the quiet and gorgeous cobblestone streets of the area. It was one of the most beautiful days in the city. I live for the clear skies and cool breeze coming from the Hudson. But now, as the chill slowly creeps back, I feel more and more safe reaching for an easy cable knit sweater before leaving my apartment. I’m pretty awful at predicting the weather just by looking outside! Paired with a high-waisted knee skirt, it’s totally granny approved! Sometimes the granniest looks are the chicest. Do mama proud.

Alex & Eli Design Project: The “Natalie” Blazer

I immediately hit it off with the two amazing designers of Alex & Eli, a NYC based label I’m completely in love with. Not only are the two designers Anna Zeman and Aja Singer complete sweethearts, but they make the most AMAZING suiting for women. They have perfected everything from blouses to blazers and trousers. I swooned seeing their pieces. As most of you know, I’m all for classic cuts and colors, and so when they wanted to collaborate with me on designing a one of a kind “Natalie” blazer, I of course said “yes!” So here we are, in the middle of our very first meeting, discussing cuts, colors, and fabrics down in SoHo. We decided on a lace detail with contrast lining, but just today, we made a few last minute tweeks, and I am SO EXCITED for you to see the results. What is going to be totally surreal? Getting to see girls in NYC walking around in the “Natalie” blazer. I think I might die when that happens! For now, check out the Alex & Eli Tailor Shop, which is a new addition to their store, allowing you to also create your own perfect blazer by giving you the option to choose lining, buttons, and styles. Heading to the offices today to get working with the tailor and toy with it as it is still in production! woot woot!
