Magic of Herve
(Romwe top, Alexander Wang trousers, Emily Cho handbag)
So this bright yellow Emily Cho handbag is one item in my wardrobe that always completes a simple outfit. The color is so eye-catching and I love the gorgeous textured leather. It’s straight out of the SS’12 collection, out later this year, and I feel lucky to get to sport this piece before it hits stores. What’s super exciting is I’m also going to be featured in the next Emily Cho SS’12 ad campaign! I literally just got back to my apartment after shooting bright and early during sunrise on the rooftop of a gorgeous apartment in Greenwich. So I’m basically a huge Emily Cho fan and brought this little guy went with me almost everywhere during fashion week. Here I am backstage with my good friend Claire at the Herve Leger show! The Herve collection was absolutely beautiful. All the dresses still had the classic Herve body-con fit, but with a twist. The collection as a whole gave off an indigenous vibe, but it was still classy and sexy. And I have been seeing that the slicked back hair look is so in season again. Backstage, Bumble and Bumble worked wonders on the runway models. The simplicity in the hair made the clothes stand out even more. LOVE.

Backstage at Derek Lam with Estée Lauder
One of the best shows I got to attend this fashion week was Derek Lam. Thanks to Estée Lauder, I got amazing tickets…and backstage passes to view the Spring ’12 collection with my sister Dylana. Getting to see the collection up close before the models strut down the catwalk is always wonderful. But my favorite part? Watching the makeup artists completely transform the models. For the show, makeup was very simple, clean, and fresh. Everything was done by the beauty label that I use religiously,Estée Lauder. I loved the nude, beautiful faces and sleek hair. It’s the epitome of classic chic. Even the clothes were all about clean line, beautiful textures, and some really beautiful bright colors. It was held at the large stage at Lincoln Center and I believe anyone I’ve ever seen in magazines was there! Such a dream show to attend. I have to admit, getting backstage was the best part!! I ran into a lot of other people that I’ve worked with. For the event, I went with a very simple and casual look. It was in the middle of all the craziness of fashion week and all I felt like wearing was a pair of skinnies and a button down. But I of course added a dark plum lipstick…my favorite which is Estee’s “Plum Couture!” Probably the hottest shade I own!
