A Magical Night

(Volcom tee, Vintage trousers, Wanted flats, Moni Moni handbag)

I swear New York is magical at night. One of my favorite things to do after the sun sets is walk the Brooklyn Bridge. I always prefer to walk anywhere in the city rather than take the subway. And the views from the bridge are absolutely stunning. Literally, I will never get tired of seeing the endless clusters of light from either end of the bridge. It’s one place I make sure to take my friends to when they visit me. My sister was in town and so we made our regular visit to my favorite Vietnamese Sandwich joint in Greenwich before head to Washington Square Park, which always seems to have something fun to see every night (talk about beating congas and dancing!). Ending the night with a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge seemed like the only healthy option that night after that meal hehe! Now it’s become our ritual. To make life easy, I wore one of my favorite tees by Volcom. This is another piece I guiltily wear to bed and go out in! It’s just so soft, comfy, and has the greatest dolman shape and side pocket. I wore it with vintage trousers and of course my night staple, a dark vampy plum lip. Just a little something easily thrown together for a perfect night in the city.

Weekend Industries

(American Apparel denim shirt, Cotton On tee, J Brand denim shorts, 80%20 shoes, Sienna Ray bag, Milor Italy jewerly)

There are some days when I just want to throw on an easy pair of denim shorts. There is no fuss, and seriously, you can never go wrong is with a cool pair of denim cut-offs. To go with it, I threw on a big button down shirt with rolled up sleeves. This is one of my favorite weekend looks. To make this denim short/ boyfriend shirt combo a bit more me, I opted for this amazing purple hue instead of the usual blue denim and slipped into another summer staple of mine, a striped cotton tee. I’m all for showing a bit of leg, especially in the summer, when everyone is so toned from being outside and walking miles nearly everyday! If you’re getting a Brooklyn “industrial” vibe from this look, it’s because we snapped these photos in DUMBO, one of the most industrial areas of Brooklyn filled with artists and painters. This is a look I could literally roll out of bed in and hit the streets…with no care of getting dirty.

Timeless on a Rainy Day

(Blue Bird blouse, By Corpus skirt, Glamyou shoes)

One thing I’m beginning to get used to on the East Coast: the massive amounts of unexpected showers. And of course, right after I lose my umbrella, which was already broken to begin with, NYC begins to cry it’s eyes out! But I actually love the rain. The city gets a bit cooler and the next day always seems a bit more fresh. I’m still waiting for my rain boots to be delivered(which I’m super stoked about), and so I’ve been going around in completely inappropriate shoes for this weather for the time being. Inappropriate, but still amazing, flat leather oxfords. Also known as, MAN SHOES. Once again, inspired by the boys strolling the city in similar type shoes, looking all comfy and casual. So jealous, I had to get a few pairs of my own! These are European made and literally feel like socks. The leather is superb and I love the unexpected blue shade. For my day out running with no luck in avoiding the endless amounts of puddles, I went with one very classic, SUPER simple look. I felt very Audrey Hepburn. Black and white with timeless shapes. This is one look I could probably grow old in and still look totally chic.

Soho Stripes

(Ruche blouse, Rue De Jeans, Moni Moni handbag, David Yurman/Vanessa Mooney jewelry, 80%20 shoes)

I live for strolls through Soho. The cobblestone streets and gorgeous brick buildings make me feel as if I’m on a movie set! I spent all morning at an event, but when I stepped outside, it felt amazing. It was seriously one of the most beautiful afternoons I’ve had here in NY! Cool, breezy, with clear skies. I wish I could stay in that moment forever. And this was before the torrential downpours we’ve experienced these past few days! As for my wardrobe, I’m all about simplicity during the summer and right now, I cannot get enough of the classic striped tee. I love a boxy shaped top paired with a great high-waisted pair of flared jeans. Such a refreshing break from skinny jeans. For some reason, the combination of red, white, and blue, never fails to look amazing. I sometimes feel my best looks are when I’m wearing head to toe basics.
