I was just in Miami with Sunglass Hut, on a mission to find the absolute most luxurious pair of shades for me to finish off the summer in. It was Miami Swim Week so I wanted something to make a statement in, that I could keep forever. I spent hours in the Lincoln Road store… one of their more gorgeous locations. As a woman who likes to get dressed based off my accessories, visiting Sunglass Hut is a totally like being a kid in a candy store. When I’m shopping, I start with a shape. What am I craving and what is new to me? Cat-eye! Round! Square! Then, I move on to size: Do I want something oversize? Something more face framing? After playing around with classic Ray-Bans to super chic 1970’s aviators to oversize round sunglasses that resembled a disco ball, I ended up with a piece that is super sleek. This pair by Prada is an absolute dream. The super dark lens makes you feel incognito, and a black frame is just an absolute no-brainer. It’s high fashion that’s still wearable. The team at Sunglass Hut helped me find the perfect fit.
I’m totally a Dr. Martens and oversize sweater sort of girl, but like most women, I naturally gravitate towards frills, especially come spring. I’m talking about exaggerated sleeves. I’m talking about pom pom heels, oh my! Things all women stop and go “OMG THIS IS TOO DARN CUTE.” Here’s how to do the trend right without going overboard in the girly-girl department. I applied these following rules to a recent work trip to Miami at Veuve Clicquot’s Carnval festival.
NYC to Miami! I was just in town for the annual Veuve Clicquot Carnaval and it is by far one of my absolute favorite weekends. A day under the sun to sip champagne and samba dance?! Count me in. This was an extra last minute work trip for me, but I’m a master at throwing things into a little carry-on luggage. The best thing to live in? Denim. It’s light. It’s versatile, and you literally need 4 pieces to get you from Friday-Sunday night.
Currently writing from the Hotel Carmel on the Northern coast in California. I’m so excited to explore this charming little beach town and drive up to the cliffs of Big Sur….even on a rainy New Years holiday. To work from somewhere so calm and relaxing is amazing, before I have to jump back into the crazy NYC groove. These little getaways always get me focused and re-energized for another amazing year to come. A place to fully disconnect. Like here, in some of my favorite looks from Art Basel in Miami. Looks like I’ll be flying back to warmer climates for a shoot in a few weeks before hopping straight into the cold, cold fashion month. I’m savoring these last few days of staring deep into the ocean. Be right back.
