LIME GREEN EYES

// Urban Decay eyeshadow, DiorShow mascara, Chanel powder, Laura Mercier blush, Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, Ronny Kobo earrings //

Green may just be one of my favorite colors. I picked up an Urban Decay eyeshadow palette and felt like bringing back the 80’s with this lime green shimmer. It’s funny how something so simple and subtle can completely change my mood. That’s what I love about beauty. The ability to transform and lift your spirits with just a little swipe of color. Sometimes a girl just wants to have fun. On the day-to-day, I get stuck in my 5 minute makeup routine: I love my usual bronzed eye shadow and berry lip. This summer I am switching things up and digging into my overflowing beauty cabinets and experimenting with new color palettes I’ve never dipped my fingers into. For this look, I like to do a single pop and keep the rest of my face pretty bare.  I nixed my usual cat-eye liner to let the green really do its thing, and just added a touch of mascara, a peachy cheek, and nude pink lip. Talk about fresh! How are you playing with color this summer?

UNLOCK RADIANCE

Welcome to the world of Clé de Peau Beauté. Based in Tokyo, Clé de Peau Beauté takes innovative Japanese skincare and combines it with classic Parisian beauty. Talk about one effortlessly beautiful new collection. Today was nothing but a radiant day at the Waldorf Astoria, Beverly Hills where Dylana and I checked into the gorgeous Clé de Peau Beauté villa suite. I was blown away by the welcoming, sunny space. Gorgeous open windows, with sunlight drenching every corner of each room. The decadent packaging of the products twinkled in the bathroom…I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them.

I began with prepping my skin with the dazzling new collection…each bottle designed to resemble gemstones, all full of luster and shine. Lately, every night, I’ve been testing the product and lathering on a smooth layer of the Clé de Peau Beauté firming serum supreme, and topped it off with their la crème and amazing eye creamThese high performance products feel like butter on my skin. I met with the team to match with my perfect foundation (I happen to be shade 020) and delicately dabbed on a little concealer in my t-zone. What I love about their makeup is that it doubles as a cream…it’s that hydrating and nourishing. I finished off my natural look with a simple swipe of highlighter (I recommend going for their luminizing face enhancer in Pastel) to the edges of my cheekbones and found my perfect lipstick shade, Clé de Peau Beauté Desert Rose lipstick. What I noticed most about this luxurious collection is that it enhances your natural beauty. You don’t look too done up. The lip colors and glosses are perfect for the everyday chic woman…they’re not too intense. I’ve fallen in love with the way this brand does sheerness. It’s soft yet rich…the best of both worlds when it comes to gorgeous makeup. The foundation is even made to be applied with you fingers. Now that’s the type of makeup I love.

With an afternoon at one of the most gorgeous hotels in all of Los Angeles, I managed to squeeze in a little time by the pool. You can still be radiant and get that sun, but with a little protection of course. Clé de Peau Beauté does SPF 50 was heaven in a bottle. The result, combined with much-needed R&R? A fresh faced and well…radiant look (with a little help from this incredible highlighter). But the day wasn’t over yet. I took a quick rinse to get hair and makeup ready for the launch party with Felicity Jones at Hotel Bel Air. I slipped into a backless red dress, some platform heels, and gave myself a swipe of Fire Ruby lip gloss. This was Hollywood at it’s finest, in it’s more natural, radiant way of course.

SUN PORCH MAKEUP

It was a perfect morning at Shelter Island’s The Chequit Hotel. This place was built in the 1800’s just steps from the coast. It feels charming and feels so remote, unlike most of the hotels I stay in when I travel for work. There are no TV’s in the room…gasp…you can’t hear a sound, maybe just the creak as you walk across the hallway. As a city girl, it certainly took me a few moments to get into this slow paced swing-of-things. I don’t think I’ve had a better night’s rest in a long time! Shelter Island is a place to grab a few good books and really relax. A place to unplug. I spent my mornings on this gorgeous sun porch overlooking the waterfront. I’d have my cup of coffee before making way for the little town down the road, where all you can find is a pizza joint and cafe. It’s a whole other side of Shelter Island I’ve come to love, just a 10 minute cab ride away from the parties and night life. For super quick weekend trips to the Hamptons, I kept my makeup super minimal. Sure, I love a clean face and bold brow, but I’m playing with a lot more color on my lids. I recently fell in love with a deep purple shadow, an unexpected pop for the end of summer.

FRESH FACE FAVORITES

natalie-off-duty-beauty-3.jpg

Along with my everyday basics…there are those luxury make-up items that I’m always experimenting with. These, with their subtle shades, have suddenly become part of my everydays. Powder pink blushes and bronzers to beat winter pale skin. Shimmering shadows that sparkle lightly in all the right ways. This year I went from dark black cat-eye and va-va-voom red lips to sublty bronzed cheeks, and dare I say, LIP GLOSS. I forgot how amazing lip gloss makes your lips look. I’m all about a more feminine, light, and fresh look. My vampire days are long gone. I guess the more grown up you get, the less fuss you want. The less makeup, less products. Just what works, and what makes you glow. Then, there is the best cream to revive your face overnight to do it all over again. I’m constantly trying new products and makeup brands. There are are some I lean towards again and again….Stila, Dolce & Gabbana, Urban Decay, and Lancome. Of course, mixed with my everydays from the local drug store (CoverGirl & L’Oreal Paris). But take a peek at these new magicians in a bottle that have just arrived at my doorstep.

Dolce & Gabanna eye shadow and eye shadow cream. I like to use the brown cream first, then add shimmer over it. It lasts way longer for those nights out. Oh, and their nail varnish is out of this world.

Everything Lancôme Hydra Zen. I’m a sucker for all things pink. These beautiful bottles really hydrate and don’t irritate.

Stila Lip Vinyl: extra glossy in vibrant hues. Wear this with just a little bronzer and a swipe of mascara. Anymore and you’ll regret it.

Marc Jacobs primer: Newest primer I have tried. It’s light, and minimizes your pores.

Now keep on keeping fresh ladies.
