ON SET FOR NICOLE MILLER RESORT 2019

This isn’t your typical campaign shoot, and it was certainly one to remember. Nicole Miller always takes the unconventional route when it comes to her campaign shoots and actually incorporated a full press day on the set, with publications like WWD and VOGUE coming in to capture their own content and stories as well!  We shot at Metal Shutter Houses, an art space in the heart of Chelsea. This space is a hub for creativity, with super high ceilings, freshly painted white walls and flooring, along with a stunning set of skylights, creating the most magnificent set of shadows to pose alongside. This collection pulled together eclectic and confusing styles that one wouldn’t expect, and made them work beautifully. Completely inspired by the eclectic and interesting mixes you’ll find on the cool girls of Manhattan. I love the chance to get into character during shoots like this. At the same time, I would completely wear these pieces on my own! That made it all the more fun. You can see there’s a little sporty element to each look. Think varsity socks paired with classic striped pajama-esque suits and flowing asymmetrical skirts. And you know me, I love a pop of color like jade and citrus along with a statement metallic piece to throw into any look. It’s the little elements of urban street style that made the collection really pop. Converse paired with brushstroke patterned cocktail dresses and flowing blouses with varsity striped leather pants made opposites attract. This collection felt refreshing and unique, giving me a few styling notes to take on myself (like taking a button up blouse and wearing it backwards). Bravo Nicole Miller, and thank you for having me as your muse this season.

THE BOLD SHOULDER

It was always vintage Chanel that began my love for puffed sleeves, shoulder pads, and the tweed newsboy cap. I like to modernize that classic style with a handful of new emerging designers that also share that same love of vintage inspiration as me. Take this Tach satin blouse, Eugenia Kim cap, and suede Farah Asmar handbag. These three designers have completely given a fresh romantic take on pieces with a little blast from the past. This season, I’m leaning towards soft palettes and interesting textures. I find this to be a look I would have worn 10 years ago, and maybe one I would wear 10 years from now. As for my weekend, I have a Sunday completely off, meaning I get to bop around downtown with some quality sister time before heading to France on Tuesday. I live for my Sundays. This week was one filled with press days and a few exciting new campaign shoots which you probably could find on my Instagram. I now find so much joy in picking up a fresh bouquet of flowers with friends and strolling the gorgeous NYC streets. No agenda. No nothing. I’ll always appreciate these simple moments and quiet days that makes me fall in love with NYC over and over again.

INSIDE THE NEIMAN MARCUS APRIL 2018 CATALOG BOOK

My latest cover for the Neiman Marcus April 2018 Book has been out for a few months now, but for those who didn’t catch a glimpse of it in VOGUE or in-store or in the mail, here is an inside glimpse at a few of my favorite pages. This was a special shoot because not only was I shooting alongside an incredible team of leading ladies, but of course, my sister Dylana. Epic, I know. We were photographed by Guy Aroch. I’ve followed his work for years…famous for amazing pops of color with a whimsy, retro feel. Neiman Marcus sure knows how to make a girl’s dream come true. We shot in the heart of Los Angeles, taking long strides in classic spring/summer ensembles that will make anyone swoon. This season was all about squad goals: rounding up your favorite girl gang and coordinating your best looks. I’m finding it so important to make time for my closest girl friends and keep in touch no matter where I am in the world or how crazy or busy our lives get. Simply put, I can’t wait for summer in the city with my gal pals. Picture silver sequins, denim shorts, and the perfect crochet dress. Click below to see more from the catalog.

KITRI COMES TO THE STATES!

I’m so excited to announce that Kitri, based in the UK, is now here in the US and online! Kitri is a new womenswear brand that has completely redefined the space between fast fashion and contemporary labels with a focus on well-made, thoughtful designs that won’t break the bank. Kitri creates what I love most: timeless silhouettes with a playful detail in design. They’ve mastered creating expertly tailored suits and jumpsuits, but Kitri is also keeping me in touch with my feminine side with this insanely perfect smocked dress. This piece is the dress of my dreams. Midi, a flattering cinched waist, and fluffed sleeve. Simplicity at it’s absolute best. It’s easy, airy, and just what will keep me going through the hot summer days here in NYC. I need more dresses like these in my life. Luckily, Kitri doesn’t follow a traditional fashion calendar. Instead, they have multiple design phases, with an exciting seasonal capsule collection coming out every month. Now I have something to look forward to every time I check the shop.

Also, I sat down with the brand for my super exciting Style Spotlight. See the best way to spend 24 hours in the city, along with a peek at my top Kitri selects this spring.
