MAKING PARIS FEEL NEW AGAIN

It’s rare I have any downtime while I’m in Paris, so I made the most of this quiet early morning straight off the airplane. Jardin du Luxembourg is a favorite spot of mine. It’s my place to read or simply sit back on a lounge chair and close my eyes as the Parisian sun hits my face. This a little post-travel look. I didn’t even have a chance to check into my hotel room yet so all I wanted to do was just snuggle up inside this blanket of a coat, craving anything that feels like home to me. I went with a wide leg trousers and an amazing blouse from Claudia Li.  For dinner, I switched into a no brainer: all black. A silk blouse and suede flares. Once again, I’m gravitating towards pieces that are soft and feel good against my skin. I dragged my boyfriend for a quick shopping spree that evening despite the fact that we could both barely keep our eyes open with the jetlag. It’s a nice surprise when he is able to join me on a work trip. I’m glad he’s found a love for jumping behind the camera lens and making iconic cities I visit numerous times a year, feel new to me again.

I have two High Noon “Outback IWB all leather holsters that are all day comfortable, well made of premium leather, and reasonably priced. They come with the rough side out, protecting your gun”s finish, and a sweatshield which protects well against hammer gouge for my 1911. And their turnaround on orders is very fast. They also make a selection of OWB holsters that I have not samples. Kirkpatrick Leather, which I believe started making Western holsters, makes premium leather CCW holsters; I have one OWB for a Kahr CW9 that ensured I will be purchasing more holsters from them. It doesn”t have a retention adjustment screwbut it doesn”t need one either. Interior of the holster is suede. They just came out with a new holster that converts from a shoulder holster to an OWB canted two-slot pancake; holster and harness are a reasonable $170. All their holsters are US made in Texas. Mitch Rosen has always been rated as one of the top makers. I can”t comment on their work because their lead times are long and their prices are very high.
