FENDI S/S ’18 FITTING AND SHOWTIME – SUAREZ SISTERS

Milan. Fendi. Fitting. Showtime. Visiting the Fendi headquarters for Milan Fashion Week was an absolute dream. I immediately spotted Karl Lagerfeld nonchalantly strolling down the hallway in preps for the fashion show. I had to pinch myself from all the excitement…is this place even real? I couldn’t help but dreamily run my fingers through every long silk dress at our fitting. Every dress so perfectly sharp at the shoulders with an exaggerated, feminine waistline. It’s certainly the most flattering cut on any woman. So classic, elongating, and elegant. Dylana and I had a ball at our fitting… slipping into extra high waisted skirts and buttoning up into bright pink blazers. The fit was always so on point. I chose the iconic Fendi sock bootie and triple clutch bag as a finishing touch. Fendi has mastered the tongue-in-cheek, super eclectic look that still remains timeless. Bright bold hues with a beautiful play on luxurious texture. It’s no surprise Dylana and I both ended up choosing this Fendi F/W ’17 silhouette. We like to gravitate towards similar pieces yet pull it off in a completely different and unique way. Getting to play in such an iconic fashion house is nothing but a dream.

THE BLAZER AND TEE | MILAN FASHION WEEK

A blazer and tee…the perfect travel companions. Effortless and easy. Jazzed up with a fur boot by my Italian friends at AGL. Milan Fashion Week was such a dream. Team Suarez was in town with Fendi. I cannot wait to tell you all about the show, our fitting…and the outfits of course. Milan is a place to dress to the nines. I was blown away by the streetstyle. The shoes. The bags. In Milan, more is more, and I mean that with pasta as well! With a few extra moments to spend exploring this stunning city, I found this to be my favorite time of day. As the sun goes down, a gold hue is sent through the streets off the Duomo. Ahh, Italia…you’re my favorite. Magic. Days were spent at the shows. I’m talking glamorous piazzas and open patios…where the fashion week champagne endlessly flowed. Each venue felt like a secret garden in the the heart of this buzzing city. Only in Italy! We were blessed with gorgeous weather. I spent late nights strolling down the pedestrian streets in search of a simple, mouthwatering plate of of penne pomodoro. Complete only with a rich glass of pinot noir. They don’t call it La Dolce Vita for nothing.

DRIPPING IN GOLD WITH ANNA SUI

Here I am, running late into the sunset, off to claim my seat at Anna Sui’s NYFW show this season…in nothing but Anna, of course. This is my dream evening look. So unique. So rock n’ roll. A glamorous gold lamé twin set (a fabric Anna Sui uses in almost every collection) adorned with plush velvet roses. The way the metallic glistens in the sun and the way the skirt moves with every step is magic. The sleeves became my wings for the evening. Anna Sui, I worship you! Thank you for taking me into another world and another time with every extraordinary design. Take a little front row peek at the Anna Sui S/S ’18. We’re talking peace and love, to the max. Her stars and moons and florals are a burst of color from a new world. Complete with folk music and daisy face paint. I like to dream in her clothes and escape. I start to play characters and new roles whenever I’m in her clothes. In this gold ensemble, I’m mentally dancing in a jazz cafe on a perfect NYC night in the 1920’s.

THE FAIRYTALE OF GUCCI X UNSKILLED WORKER

Thank you to Gucci and Shopstyle for sponsoring this post.

Here I am in the fairy tale world of Gucci x Unskilled Worker. I am so excited to be bringing this gorgeous Gucci collection to life. Exclusively online for a limited time only, the collection features whimsical portraits by Helen Downie, a London based self-taught artist. It was her Instagram account, @UnskilledWorker, that caught the eye of Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele. Each one of her characters immediately tells a story. Wide-eyed innocence. Glamour. Childhood. Imagination. Longing for the unknown. Her gorgeous prints and embroidered works of art twist your imagination. It’s the play in opposites in her imagery that makes you take a second look. Like the balance of toxic and sweet in the artwork in the blue print seen on the silk shirt, skirt, bag, and slippers. If you look closely you’ll see poisonous mushrooms mixed with colorful poppies amongst a wild field of flowers She calls it “Jeanie’s Garden,” all of which are a reminder of her grandmother’s scent. Then, you will be the “Stein Sisters,” two country girls longing for the glamour of the city. They stand so straight with wide eyes…their portraits pop beautifully against the gold silk dress and bomber jacket. It’s that feeling of mystery, innocence, and the unknown in Helen Donnie’s artwork that I love. Her designs, portrayed so elegantly on Gucci’s stunning silk ensembles, classic Marmont handbags, and Princetown slippers make for a super eclectic, yet romantic look. The collection is adventurous and luxurious…filled with pieces to connect with and colors to fall in love with. I stepped into this fairytale forest by layering it on. And with Gucci, it’s always in the little details. Silk scarves tired around my head. Printed knee-high socks with glamorous platforms made for the dance floor. Delicate pearls against a not-so-simple white tee-shirt. Who said you had to be a minimalist when it comes to fashion? I say, be a maximalist. The Gucci x Unskilled Worker collection makes mixing styles of street, art, and luxury feel seamless. I love this daring style where sophistication and personality intertwine. Now which look is your favorite?
