A TOUCH OF HERITAGE

Here are a few outtakes from my Don Julio campaign that I just fell in love with. A campaign that’s been super fun for me because I get to embrace my very different cultures and everything that makes me, well, me and create very different and interesting stories. We’re talking everything filming in Chinatown at a Mexican tequila bar to creating my very own specialty cocktails. With that, I’ve really did some research on everything from incredible new recipes to classic vintage looks from every part of my background: Chinese, Mexican, and Spanish.

For me, I love things a little over-the-top. Super editorial. Bold colors and prints. Extra chunky jewels. All pieces that remind me of my heritage and exotic culture. I spotted this vintage dress and knew I had to have it. The retro stripes and floral print, tied in with a little Latin flavor thanks to it’s bold, vibrant colors of Mexico. The bib choker a custom gift from the gals at Dannijo during a short trip in Palm Springs, California. The leather hat is one I take on every single beach trip around the world…from Tulum, to Kuala Lumpur, to the Cayman Islands. The more time I’ve spent traveling the world, the more in-tune I’ve become with my own culture and background. For example, discovering new flavors to experiment with. Tequila. Turmeric. Curry powders. Fresh fruits and vegetables. Maybe rather than my style, it’s my tastebuds that are inspiring me to keep on exploring and creating. I love having a very worldly wardrobe. Each piece always telling a story. Bringing me back to my roots.
