A SOFTER PALETTE

Is this the new color for spring? A soft, dusty rose? I think so. I’m leaning towards it in everything from my clothes to my lipsticks. And just like with any really elegant piece, I dress it down. White denim jacket? Check. Leather mules? Check. Linda Farrow sunglasses? Check. Here I am snapped in Philadelphia after a long day of filming in the city. It was super hot and muggy…the sweat glistening off my face. I could easily sense a super hot summer ahead full of outdoor beer gardens, concerts, and that occasional mosquito bite.

Philadelphia and I go way back. It’s been about 3 years since I made my last visit. Time really does fly. When Dylana worked in Philly, I would visit her every other weekend. This old, historical city has so much charm. I couldn’t help but wander through it’s tiny, narrow, cobblestone streets and peek through people’s windows. All-Americana. Red doors. Green vines growing from every wall. It truly can be magical throughout the spring. Immediately, memories started flooding back. Late nights in Fish Town at the local dive bar. Pit-stops at QT’S, the best banh mi spot in town. Discovering new bands almost every weekend. 3 hour dinners chitchatting over roti canai at Penang, my favorite Malaysia restaurant. Every single time, the waiters ask us where we’re from and how tall we are. Every. Single. Time. It’s pretty funny how this city feels like it never changes, though there’s something new popping up everywhere I turn around Rittenhouse Square. It’s always been my other city to escape from NYC. Smaller. Quieter. Just as charming. In a way, Philly plays a big role in us sisters growing up. We discovered so much about ourselves during this time over 6 years ago…living on our own, and living the dream. We’ll see when work brings me back. Until then, I’ll be sashaying somewhere else in this little pink number.

I love this blush number on you – I really do think blush is the colour for the season because it looks so gorgeous! Plus with a piece like that you can dress it up or down and you’ve styled it just perfectly!
