URBAN DECAY | UD GETAWAY CAMPAIGN FILM

urban-decay-getaway-suarez-sisters-23

The most amazing thing about having a sister is that you have a life partner in crime, a best friend, and the ability to create endless adventures and stories together. I realized to never take that for granted. One of my favorite quotes is: “Sisters function as safety nets in a chaotic world.” It’s so true. We never feel alone even if we’re on opposite sides of the continent. You feel you always have someone to read your thoughts with just a glance at each other. Amidst the chaos, we can drift off into our own little dream world and live by our own rules. Dance together. Go wild together. Goof off together. Run away together.

See inside our Urban Decay “UD Getaway” film starring both Dylana and I, directed by the amazing Asher Moss. Urban Decay is all about  beauty with an edge and there was nobody we would rather collaborate with to tell the tale of two girls on the run, with no set plan, just a pair of stolen car keys and the wind in our faces. Urban Decay Cosmetics is badass in every single way possible, and what I love is how the brand experiments with color. Like my personality, I like things crazy, a little on the edge, and full of life. Dylana and I are beauty fanatics. We love bold red lipsticks and pretty pouts next to shimmering sexy eye shadows. My latest red lip is the Matte Revolution lipstick in Temper.

Against clean, flawless skin (I am currently using the Urban Decay NAKED Skin BB Cream), I like to accentuate either my eyes or lips…or BOTH when we’re headed out to the local bar for a night of dancing with our girl tribe. Right now, I’m all about a good cat eye, but for summer, it’s about making that wing extra bold. We’re talking bright teal. Or a really thick gold wing.

Finish it off with bronzer, and my new favorite thing out there by Urban Decay, the Afterglow illuminator. For day, and I’m feeling extra cheeky, I’ll go with a lip gloss. I’ve come to realize that lip gloss will never go out of style. Talk about glowing from the inside out.

Now we totally just jacked our guy’s keys and hit the road. Taking the road less traveled. From the desert of California down to the coast. Just a map, a suitcase full of makeup, and a bunch of cash. No care in the world. What’s next?! Just be a girl boss and go where the wind takes you. Nobody can stop you now.

BAJA SUMMER

resized-j-brand-natalie-suarez-baja-summer-16

My shoot for J BRAND x Elsewhere is officially out! I’ve worn J BRAND for years and you just can’t go wrong with their skinny jeans and short shorts. The Baja Summer collection features adorable denim bikini tops, silky tanks, and absolutely perfect basics. They’re easy pieces that you throw in a suitcase and take out to the desert. Sonya, our photographer Grant, and the Elsewhere team headed straight to Baja for that much needed sunshine and heat. No jacket required. Just what I like. The bold reds and deep blues worked perfectly with our sandy, rocky backdrop. Along with crisp whites. Baby blues. Sage greens. When Elsewhere asks you to star in their next shoot you know they are going to bring you to some killer, untouched locations. They being the best travel guides a girl could know. We left the day covered in dust and a pink sunset. Baja summer starts now.

NEW HEIGHTS // FP x KORK-EASE

kork-ease-free-people-natalie-suarez-25

There’s something so brilliantly 70’s about Kork-Ease. Their iconic sandals have been a favorite of mine ever since I discovered the brand out here in Brooklyn, where the it all began back in 1953. When something’s been around that long, you know it’s great. They just collaborated with Free People in creating the Original and most iconic platform of the 70’s. We’re talking new heights! Made for those babes who live for vintage, collect their Dad’s old records, and would do anything for the perfect dancing shoe. Their new Heights platforms are 4 inches high, but believe me, they totally rock and are still comfortable. I love this fun new spin on the classic cork wedge sandal from Kork-Ease.

When I want to go extra wild, I’ll whip out the pink platforms, pair them with a polka-dot sock, and my sister’s crochet mini. Keep the prints pleasantly clashing if you really want to make a statement at the next disco house party down the block. I’ve always been a shoes girl, and a lot of my looks revolve around a pair that I’m dying to take out on the town. The funkier the better. Now isn’t this just one dream collab?! Happy to be one of the first girls on the block to own this collection.

EASTER IN ENGLAND | LONDON

london-british-airways-natalie-off-duty-1

Now I know why my Brit friends recommended to “pack a brolly” (yes, the term means umbrella) when they heard about my London escapade with British Airways (more on that in my next post). But it’s true that London really never stops raining. Usually you’ll find me on a flight to London in late February or September for a shoot or a few days of non-stop days at London Fashion Week, bouncing from show to show. It was a really nice having this slower pace. Focusing on the city, restaurant hopping, and watching endless amounts of movies on the plane. It was Easter the morning we arrived and I have never seen London so incredibly sleepy. I was beyond jet-lagged and though I could hit snooze a few more times in my hotel bed, I did manage to stroll out in the rain in search of the nearest pub. We ended up at The George just off of Somerset House, and had a full Sunday roast complete with mashed peas, potatoes, perfectly roasted chicken along with a side of fish and chips. Never had comfort food tasted so good. There’s something about the English pub culture that I love. You’ll always find that one guy that most likely slept overnight in the pub (this is a real thing) talking to himself over a glass of wine. Or you may be inches away from a bar fight. Luckily, everyone seemed drained from a weekend of Easter raving that our pub experience was extra chill…leaving us to fill our bellies in peace.

As for my wardrobe, I’ve been traveling so much lately for work that I can pack with my eyes closed. Turtlenecks in Europe are always a good idea. As is denim, sneakers, and a good wool coat. Minimal. I’m off to Paris this evening, and I definitely decided to glam up what’s in my suitcase for it seems we may have a really star-studded weekend. Stay tuned!
