LE PARKING LOT

streetstyle-LA-4resized

This parking lot is all too familiar. Chinatown. Where I’ve stopped for some of the most amazing chicken chow fun and dumplings since I was born. It’s fun revisiting one of your old stomping grounds. So many memories. We decided to relive it and hop in our car back in Los Angeles and take out our adorable Great Aunt Sally for a late lunch. Her icy blue eyes showing wisdom and age over our steamy bowls of soups. She’s constantly reminding my sister and I that life goes by too fast. Do what you love now, everything’s going to be okay, and look out for the GOOD BOYS (why of course Great Aunt Sally!) There’s nothing a comforting cup of jasmine tea, egg noodle soup, and a good chat can’t fix. It was the most perfect simple day. And I kept things classic. Disheveled hair under my favorite black hat, pants so wide that I can move and jump and dance however I feel, and a crisp, clean blazer. I don’t even remember the last time I wore a blazer, but believe me, you feel super smart in one. That with a great tote and ballet flat. But go for your most slept-in tee, and a tug at your drawstring to loosen things up. Till next time parking lot.

OH HEY TOMMY

It’s crazy how much I love the Tommy Hilfiger Collection line. Straight off the runway. The rich hues like emerald greens and bold beautiful plaids feel down-to-earth but scream runway-chic. It’s eclectic. You don’t just get a normal plaid button-down from Tommy. It’s go that extra twist of frill, like an exaggerated hem. This bomber jacket reminds me of a vintage piece I used to have from Norway that I picked up somewhere in LA. Voluminous and mountainous. Today, Tommy Hilfiger feels like easy rock n’ roll that easily goes from the streets of LA to a cabin in the Swiss alps . . . or just for a pit-stop in Chinatown for my favorite boba.

WE ON THE WEST COAST

beach-style-11resized.jlpg

I was beeping around from Los Feliz to Malibu in my little Prius like the good old days this past holiday, and it was such an exhilirating break. Can you believe it…bare legs? Funny I’m already thinking of summer. The beach. The sunsets. The bougainvillea. Scouring for sea shells. Paddleboarding. A good tan. The teeny tiny dresses. I’m still sporting my summer favorites, just layering it up. Thank goodness for the Free People’s seamless collection. Their stretchy turtlenecks are the ultimate base when I want to take my favorite summer dress to the winter streets.

And meet the latest addition to my leather jacket collection. The this C/Christ LA biker. It’s extra oversize, badass, and ultra chic. I’ve been living in this badboy.

TIME TO DECORATE

home-decor-nyc04home-decor-nyc-6

This month, I’m totally redecorated my apartment. I’m so excited for a clean new slate. New lamps. New paintings. Rugs. Fluffy pillows. With the new year, I want my home my sanctuary. Right now, it’s super minimal. I’ve got loads of windows and natural light, but have kept things super simple due to loads of traveling and rarely having a second to hit the home department. I steer clear of clutter, but I love unique and stand-out pieces. Handmade dream-catchers, a white fluffy bed, a tufted couch, and candles. ZEN. Take a walk through these amazing living spaces. Clean layouts, with a touch of quirky personality. Luxe but down to the earth. So inspired to take my NYC decor to the next level.
