TEXTURE PLAY // THROWING IT BACK

I am SERIOUSLY throwing it back. Back to when my cheeks and nose were so pink from the cold, I couldn’t feel my own face. It’s funny seeing the pale version of myself as I look at my suitcase full of swimsuits and rashguards, my tan still going strong. All of these winter-ready pieces are stashed away somewhere far, FAR back into my closet. But these were the days. Mornings trying to figure out how to dress cute/warm/cozy in 20 minutes all while trying to be comfortable enough to take on the crowded streets and subway cars. Winters were shiveringly bitter, and it’s still hard taking in all of these looks. All of which, I got too busy to even look over. Today is all about texture play. Now being a New Yorker, I’ve totally mastered the art of layering. Fur under my leather. Bright pinks with my colorful plaids. Taking that British newsboy cap, along with stockings and a midi skirt out to the East Village. Freezing temps are fun when you’ve got the goods to play with. I guess I’m prepping for what’s to come…fall you’re creeping up faster than I thought.

Funny thing is that I still do remember those dreadful cold days as well. You are the master of layering indeed. I do miss all the beautiful prints and textures (like fur) in the winter time. But I can not tell you that I miss the cold, at all lol
