A PINK BIRTHDAY CAKE

(Gypsy Junkies velvet jacket, Vintage coat, Joes Jeans pleated blouse, HUDSON JEANS patchwork jeans, Isly Handbags CLUTCH, Ax + Apple necklaces, Wildfox sunglasses, Sam Edelman boots, Worth & Worth hat)
Vintage coats have been my obsession since the beginning of time. In LA, I scoured estate sales early in the morning to find the perfect ones. My French coat collection comes from all colors of the rainbow….in red, nude, houndstooth, green, black, any color…you name it. But I’ve never had that perfect PINK PINK PINK coat. Once I realized, “I don’t need to shop ever again,” (my closet is literally overflowing) I was dragged to Brooklyn’s Fox & Fawn in Greenpoint. There, I found this beauty sitting on a rack of dusty dresses. The color got me right then. Ther perfect bold pink and warm enough to keep me cuddled and in a bright mood all through the gruesome winter. This day was my birthday, November 3rd, and I wanted to be OVER THE TOP. Dressed like a happy birthday cake with the icing on top. A velvet jacket, rock n’ roll button-down, a colorful houndstooth clutch, the best patchwork jeans I’ve ever laid eyes on. I had the best birthday weekend. I now have an apartment so full of fresh flowers that I sneeze the moment I walk in. Leftover hazelnut cake, and balloons to remember it all by! Here’s to another killer year….each getting better than the last.
