HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

(MINKPINK cardigan, Gypsy 05 shirt, The 2 Bandits belt, David Kahn denim shorts, Timberland canvas sneaker, Vanessa Mooney choker (similar), Ax+Apple rings, Jewelmint horn earrings (similar)
My Mom loves white, she loves long hallways of hardwood floor…our LA home is seriously, this beautiful place perfected by my two parent’s wild imagination. With plush white pillows as an added touch, I always laugh at my parents for paying so close attention to all the little things they’ve filled our home with. Here I am in our living room…a place where I rarely find time to sit in. My one week back home went by too quickly. I packed loads of clothes, but ended up wearing denim cut-offs, a tee, and crochet cardigan on my few days off. It was just too darn hot! Oh, and found myself biking around my neighborhood in some canvas sneakers. I came home in NYC and found in my boyfriend’s closet, almost the exact same pair. I guess we’ll be matching on those days we both want to feel extra comfy. They’re Timberland, and pretty sick, ya know, next to the classic yellow work boot I’m trying to get my hands on. Anyways, I’m excited to be shooting once again with Timberland this coming week before I’m off to the west coast. So many new adventures on the way.

PARIS GAMES

(Paul & Joe denim shirt, Goldsign high-waisted jeans, Chloe handbag, Rebecca Minkoff camera bag, RAEN sunglasses, Worth & Worth woven hat, G.H. Bass & Co. brogues, BOERA knuckle ring)
It was that one morning in Paris that I picked the first thing coming out of my overflowing suitcase. Nearing the end of our European adventures, I had shirts lying messily on the couch…jackets on the edge of the bed…socks under a chair. I ended up with a classic Paul & Joe denim shirt, and one of my go-to high wasited denim jeans. Simple, but of course, with a pop of silver metallic brogues. I was extremely excited this morning. To bring my boyfriend to one of my all time favorite spots in Paris: the romantic and breath-takingly beautiful Montmarte. He was mesmerized…and immediately called it his favorite place in Paris, and that he’d “move here in a heart beat.” So worth the confusing Metro transfers. Between buying fresh cheesecake on the street corner, and plopping down to eat our take-out on the steps of an alleyway, we realized we’ll always leave a part of our hearts in Pareeee. This place where you can eat your heart out and just enjoy life. I followed my GPS to the top of the La Basilique du Sacré Coeur, and it took us a completely backwards route…allowing us to explore the hidden back streets. It was an intense hike up. I was losing breath under the hot sun, feeling lucky I had on a woven hat to shade me. Looking down from the church is what it’s all about. The crisp air, the sky so clear…the harp playing as you can see all of the city. We didn’t want to leave Montmarte and actually found ourselves sitting by the train on a bench for an hour before leaving, waiting for a guitarist on the side of the road to begin playing. We eventually took the Metro to the Luxembourg Gardens. A magical park where kids were playing, pony-rides were taken, and where I could spend hours watching the boys toss their silver balls during endless Sunday games of Bocce. This may have been the last day of our trip…I don’t really remember. But I do remember how exhausted yet happy I was. Till next time Paris.

SWIM FAN

(We Are Handsome swim dress (similar) and bikini (similar), vintage CHANEL backpack, Vanessa Mooney bracelet, Wildfox sunglasses, Ax + Apple necklace, Loeffler Randall sandal (similar)
This little dress is literally like a wetsuit. It fits like a glove, and I can dive into the ocean with it on, and it’d still stay perfectly wrapped to my body. Worn over my swimmy during my one day in Laguna, I loved the freedom of feeling the sand and ocean breeze on my skin. I just went directly into the ocean just to get that beach sea salt effect all over my hair…before massaging my toes in between the sand and the water. I was toting this little vintage CHANEL bag along the way and it is my all time favorite. Founded by my Mum over in Los Angeles, it’s a gem, and of the sofest leather. I can’t wait to take it out again here in the city. For now, I’ll be California dreaming…as I’m getting more and more in the NYC groove. Oh, and can you say Fashion Week?! Lots of exciting things coming your way soon!

DR. JART+ SKIN AND BEAUTY GIVEAWAY

Featuring my top Dr. Jart+ skin products
(wearing a Gypsy 05 top)
For me, I love taking care of my skin. It was my Mom who really pushed it on me…saying “never go to bed without moisturizing, and never leave the house without sunscreen.” Ever since then, I’ve been paying close attention to what products worked for me. With traveling, and from being on shoots, and wearing makeup, my skin can feel worn down after a long day’s work. I’ve tried so, so many different products and then I realized that my skin was always the best and most clear when I just, let it be…and kept it clean and moisturized with the basics. My top products are by Dr. Jart+ and honestly, I’m addicted. Everything from the detox cleanser to their Ceramidin cream leaves my skin feeling so fresh and smooth. I love a freshly moisturized face and that glistening look. Plus, they smell soo good, making waking up and going to bed super relaxing!
I’m happy to finally let you know what Dr. Jart+ products I use daily:

1. Black Label Detox 02 Cleansing Foam: I’m obsessed with this foam cleanser because it’s extremely gentle, yet I still see results. It’s perfect for removing the grime from the New York City streets, and getting a real detox every morning. Wash after wash, it keeps my skin even more hydrated and clear, rather than stripping away my oils. It really allows my skin to breathe.

2.  Ceramidin Liquid: The Ceramidin Liquid is my go-to primer. I use it just before the Ceramidin Cream, to really lock in moisture. Right away, my skin feels calmer and way more hydrated. Though I have combination skin, which can get oily, but also easily get dry because it’s so sensitive, it’s so much more clear and blemish free when my skin is fully hydrated throughout the day. The Ceramidin Liquid is what I use every single morning before moisturizer, and before applying any makeup. It’s that much needed base.

 3. Ceramidin CreamSometimes my skin can feel so dry after long days out in the city…and during any time of year. And especially if I’m out on a shoot, and I’ve been wearing makeup all day, my skin can feel even more worn down. The Ceramidin Cream is the perfect cream to relieve irritation, redness, and of course dryness right away. It moisturizes for over a full day, and keeps my skin feeling much more fresh and smooth no matter where I am. It’s super light, and I now make sure to keep this in my bag everyday.

4. Water Fuse Water-Max Sleeping Mask: Though I like to keep my routine as simple as possible, every week or so, I have to use a mask. Just to get the dirt out of my pores and for some really deep cleaning. For me, people are always touching my skin, putting on my makeup for shoots, and sometimes I just need one really good skin detox. This sleeping mask totally does the trick, and it’s so relaxing, the delicious scent puts me to sleep right away. It’s like my own mini spa at home.

5. Premium BB CREAM Beauty Balm spf 45: Sunscreen is my number 1. I never leave the house without sunscreen on. The face is probably the most important. Also, when I’m not working, I try to keep my makeup super minimal so my skin can breathe…maybe just a little foundation around the T of my face. I wear this beauty balm under my makeup, and immediately it makes my skin look fresh and clear. It’s the perfect base, and I love knowing that the SPF is giving my skin that extra protection anytime of the year.
