Hosting a Night with Supertrash

The Amsterdam label, Supertrash, has got me smitten. Everything from their hats to their prints, to their in-store magazine, have that cool simplicity I love about European style. In launch of their new Soho store, here in NYC, I was their host…dressed head to toe in Supertrash love! First thing I leaned towards during our fitting was this long printed maxi dress. It’s nubby and thick like a sweater but just so flattering. The hat is just a piece I’ll keep forever and ever. It couldn’t be more perfect, and believe me, it’s not easy finding the perfect hat. With the completely full house, this get-up made me a bit easier to find. We were even a bit over capacity but that’s the fun part about these things! Never is there a dull moment.
Visit their first NYC store when you get the chance, it sure is purrrty.

Black Bennis and a Pair of Concert Tickets

WIN: 2 tickets to see The XX here in NYC this Friday, October 26th!
I’ve had these two The XX tickets for their NYC show this Friday night at the beautiful Paradise Theater, sitting in my wallet for months. I’m actually off to Woodstock this week and so I want to treat a lucky reader to go see the show instead! I’m sure it’s going to be so insanely good, they’re one band I can listen to for hours and hours! I’m also introducing our new black Modern Vice BENNI boot, designed by Dylana and I here in the NYC factory. They’re basically what we’ve worn for nights on end, dancing to our favorite gigs. The oiled suede surprisingly looks better after it’s been a little beat up!

To win these two tickets to The XX, simply comment below with how you’d style either the pumpkin, fuschia, or black suede
“Natalie + Dylana x Modern Vice” BENNI boot!

Follow Modern Vice on Facebook/Instagram @modernvice to see the winner!
I’m excited to hear how you guys get creative! Here we go guys…to everyone in NYC! Winner will be announced by Thursday! xx

The Coat Diaries

This Nanette Lepore coat has been something I’ve been dreaming of for the longest time. It’s got that rock n’roll retro vibe, but in a shockingly beautiful red/orange. Somehow everything looks good with a simple striped sweater and some skinnies! This weekend was one of re-wearing outfits over and over again. Dylana and our Philly friends were in town, and so we all kind of shared closets, mixing and matching what they had in their totes with what was in my closet. But most importantly, Dylana and I just got our hands on our first pairs of black, oiled suede BENNI boots! Part of our JETT collection, they’re our simpler, tailored version on a woman’s Chukka boot. Fresh out of the Modern Vice factory late Friday night, we took them out right away for a night of dancing at MAKING TIME…where bands like Tan Lines play live until 4am. So it’s been a crazy weekend. Having friends over and running around the city like madmen. Dylana and I finally got to unwind Sunday evening in the park, with just a notebook, scribbling down song ideas…pages filled with whatever popped in our heads. It’s really the only way to get anything done on weekends like this. The changing leaves and the calmness always help bring me back to real life before Monday morning.

VOLCOMUNITY: to all the Jane Birkins

(Volcom skirt, Rugby Ralph Lauren trench coat, Sun Child sweater, Giles + Brother necklace, 80%20 “Clea” flats)
To all of the Jane Birkins out there, I love you. I’m getting back to that old school, retro look. Little loafers, a trench, and of course…those skiiiirts. I pulled out tons of these little printed skirts out of my latest Volcom package and I’m swooning over all the goodness.
See more on Volcomunity!
